Well sadly, my buddy fell victim to a tree branch.
When i went out i seen the branch on the patio, thought i was lucky and it missed.
Unfortunately, it bounced off the truck on to the patio.
Body shop wants 3K... I spent quite a bit of time in body shop years ago so i see the work required...
PDR guy with amazing reputation says he can fix it.... 1K, still a fair amount of work in this method.
Personally if the misses would stop reminding me about it, I would have it forgot about, it wont be the last make on it. But hey it needs to be repaired.

Wondering what are members thoughts on PDR.

I’ve seen some magic worked by PDR guys, I say give him a shot. I bet you won’t be able to tell where it happened if he’s good

I'd definitely try PDR first. I had a honda with dents in the middle of roof that never were able to get fixed properly. The paint kept cracking due to the flexing of the metal and bondo. I am guessing they expand/contract differently.

I had a deep golf ball size dent in a '97 Lexus door repaired with PDR and was amazed with results. I suspect the $1k quote was so high because he will have to remove the headliner. If your willing to remove it yourself, ask him to re-quote it. Also price around.... $1k seems crazy high.

I had similar dents from hail and pdr pulled mine out no problem. As to your roof I had hail damage all over and it was cheaper to just reskin it but if you only have the single dent pdr should be able to fix it.

For 1t, a Sherpa grand Teton roof rack is a nicer alternative .

They'll probably drop the headliner and go at it from inside no?

Why not use insurance? This should be covered by your comprehensive not collision so lower deductible. I did this when a ladder fell and hit my tailgate.

I had about a dozen small dings and a soft crease in the tailgate taken out of my truck before the wrap.

You would never know there was any work done.

Guys did an amazing job. I would definitely give it a shot.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well they can make that dent disappear. You're lucky the paint layer isnt broken so it should be super clean when they're finished with it

Insurance will pay for PDR, if you find a good shop, they will sub it out to the PDR guy. I specifically asked for it. AAA did it for me through the shop. He did my lady's Camry that was caught in a nasty hailstorm. I dont like paint matching, bondo, or any other things they will do (unless PDR cant fix it) that i will never be satisfied with.
