Same here, I love the WV mountains so much I bought a cabin and moved here. FJR, is that Yamaha?

 

Yep. 1300cc inline 4 roughly 145 hp. Shaft drive sport tourer.

 

What’s your head shape? Have you tried the shoei RF1000?

 

FZ1 one of Yamaha’s best bikes. Every year is solid. I rode the hell out of one that my buddy owned. Was so much fun in the high revs; they are impressive power plants.

 

Nice. Back in the day my buddy had a FJ1100, fun bike. I always rode the old 900 Kaws. I had a garage full of them, I only have 2 left. Sadly they're now sitting in my brother's garage back in my home state covered in dust.

 

I had to. It was no sales tax and $750 off also I would like to create a relationship with this dealer. They know I am serious about it.

Anyone have the balls to ride one of these. Probably one of the quickest bikes I have ever ridden. These bikes are amazing if you can find one in good shape.

I know I posted this earlier…well this is one that only has 150 miles on it and it’s a ‘23 for $9500. He had it lowered by the dealer but that’s a super easy fix and I send my suspension off anyways cause I am the size of a bear lol.

It has 44hp. It can't possibly be anything resembling "quick". Why would you need "the base to ride one"? Were they especially twitchy?

I had an old Aprilia 2 smoke race bike. It was a rs125. It was crazy light, and would scare the shit out of you!

 

I had a green 74 Kaw 500 triple 2 stroke (widow maker). That was a scary ride.

With the long distance riding and rallying I need a modular helmet. Trying to get a drink or eat something inside a full face helmet is highly impractical, I've tried! I've got an Arai Corsair and previously wore Shoei RF900 and RF1100 full face before moving to the Neotec. I have a Schuberth C3 Pro that I can still wear that's in good shape I've just never really warmed up to it like I have the Neotec. One of the biggest issues and I know it sounds weak is that I really want to stick with a Hi-Viz yellow color. We rode with another FJR owner in May and he commented later about how much easier it was to keep sight of us because of our helmets.

I got a killer deal on another 85 FJ1100 that had been set up for endurance road racing but had been pretty worn out. Scavenged the later model FJ1200 forks with Progressive springs, 4 piston calipers with floating rotors and braided stainless brake lines. A Progressive rear shock that I sent out and had rebuilt and a Lockhart Philips windscreen. I still kick myself for ever selling this one.

 

My buddy had that same bike.
