this thread is not for gangs or any of that. i have an essay topic this is the topic. i need a few opinions on what people think so i thought id ask you guys! It says this

"Topic: Respond to class activities regarding gangs and gang activity, giving your personal understanding and opinion of the topic of gangs in America. Include the role(s) of law enforcement, gang task force, etc."

i have responded to all the classroom activities today and we also to a visit the the California Mens Colony today and wow.. its kind of a life changing experience. but if you guys have any opinions on this topic i encourage you to share :D

Gangs and Gang Enforcement was basically a 3 week class when I was taking it. You could probably write a book if you wanted. I'll see if I could find my old notes

Gangs are a formation of like-minded people to complete a common goal. In contemporary America, gangs are associated with thugs, gangsters and wrong doers. They lie, steal, and kill for the gang. Loyalty is paramount to the gang mentality, meaning if you are unloyal, you will likely be biting the bullet, literally. They are ruthless, because it is like a second family or for many members, it may even be their first...

They are often known to deal in narcotics, high value thefts, and violent crimes - often fighting to the death when confronted by law enforcement, making apprehension/conviction of leaders more difficult.

In my experience, gangs around me are pussy little eighth graders who talk shit and get the shit beat out of them. They call themselves the "swag kings" and have become the laughing stock of kirkwood. They once passed themselves off as a "dance group" so they could become a school recognized club. Why do they do this? Fucked if I know. Probably because they want "respect" and acknowledgment from their intercity "brothers".

Most gang members are related to one another
Motivated by pride of territory or gang.. That they think they need to protect and build a fear around

To disrespect a gang members territory / gang
Will result in assault or any bodily harm

WTF are you in a sociology class or something? Here is some really simple blather you might not want to relay to your professor depending on if they are with the left or right...
Gangs are poor people. They are made up of the bottom of society and reflect that in every activity they choose to be a part of. It could be their parents fault or the education systems and Blah-Blah-Blah.. Chances are they are in that group that are a bunch of lazy criminals that want to take the ez way out.

Weird how that happens. Currently Detroit is the most dangerous city in the nation, but Saint Louis (where I live) has gone back and forth with them over the years over who has the highest crime rates.

Maybe eight grade punks, but I don't know anyone who truly "does it for fun". Now there are those sick fucks who have pride in trolling around 30 deep beating the shit out of innocent people. I wouldn't call that "for fun" though I'd call that bat shit crazy

Florida might not be the "Dirty South" but our PD and SO call that trash target practice.
