We had a man bun IT guy named Corbin...

He didn't like people having noisy tools generally used to harvest wildlife at long range, large powerful V8 engines - and many other generally Wrenchman related ideas.

    He drove a Prius..

I know everybody loves going to the DMV to get their license, let me tell you what my wife and I had to do when we changed states recently.

My wife went out of town in August so I figured while I had a couple days off it would be a good time for me to get it done. I looked online and it said 2 forms of proof of new address and birth certificate, check. I got online and made an appointment for a Friday morning. 32 minutes one way so off the kids and I went.

We walked in and right up to the counter, lady said this birth certificate won't work, has to be a certified copy. I had the one that said "mothers copy". I said I'll be back so off to the house we went.

Came back an hour and 15 later, no line so we walked right up and gave her the one from the hospital with the hospital seal on it. She said this won't work, has to be a certified copy from the courthouse, not the hospital. I said I was born at the hospital, not the courthouse. Wrong thing to say to the DMV lady, just so you know.

Off to the courthouse we went in N.C. which just happens to be 32 minutes the opposite way, paid for a certified copy and back to the DMV we went, by this time it's late afternoon and there are a lot of people at the DMV so we wait for 30 minutes. I finally get my license.

Wife gets home, I tell her what she needs and she has a certified copy of her birth certificate so I made her an appointment for the following morning.

She gets there and they tell her she has to have a certified marriage certificate since her name has changed (you'd think her having the 2 kids they saw with me 3 times a few days prior would be good enough). She had her N.C. license and new S.S. card with her changed name, they said got to have the marriage certificate. Her and the kids make the round trip to the house and get everything marriage certificate related we have, even the receipt from where we paid for it. Walks back in, no line, they tell her it's not good enough, has to be a certified copy from you guessed it...the courthouse.

She calls me and tells me and ask me to go by the courthouse here in N.C. after work and get it, done.

She goes back the next day with no appointment and there are a lot of people so she text me and said "make me an appointment for now" so I got online and got the 1st appointment for her 12 minutes away. As soon as I submitted it they called her name.

6 trips combined to the DMV for both of us and about $150 in certified crap we won't need again and done

They checked my eyes while I was there and my license are good until 2031 now, no sign test or anything.
