Bought a set of steelies with tires that had under 10K from a 2022(i think) SR To put on my 2019 SR and it came with UNMOUNTED TPMS' sensors

I would like to run Summer/Winter tire sets....

Thanks for the many years of knowledge and in advance for the future knowledge!

Your fav garage tire shop can scan your new wheel sensors to see their health.

PITA and you can't reuse rubber stems once installed in the rim.

You need to have the right tools to reprogram the truck to the other four sensor ID#s.

    I can't tell you.

    Do this \/

The simplest is to get a set of four clone sensors, Autel 315MX is what I use. Add each OEM ID# into each clone sensor with the right tool, which copies the four ID#s that your truck already has programmed into it with your stock wheels. Swap wheels when you want, familiarize yourself with the TPMS in your owners manual, and hit the TPMS button at your left knee.

I have the stock wheels and sema wheels for my 19 sport, both sets with oem toyota sensors. I use the autel TS508, and reset them each spring and fall, for winter/summer useage. Super easy, and no trips to the tire store, or added fees. Ski

umm I like that idea and am usually up for buying a new "tool" but I am seeing prices range from 275-350 for that thing.... kinda high IMHO for "tool" that I will use twice a year.... I like the cloning idea better because my wallet doesn't take as much of a hit....

Here is the process.... using a MaxiTPMS TS508...

not that it goes in depth or anything but it's nice to see it before you do it.... 11:55 is where to start from unless you want to "hang out" with some random dude in garage, which i actually did...

    So if I understand correctly

I really CAN NOT just "reprogram/clone" the loose OEM Toyota sensors I have with the ID's from the Sensors that are currently on the truck?

I CAN buy some Autel new sensors and clone the ID's from currently installed Sensors on the vehicle with an Autel "reprogrammer" like the Autel Ts408 and 508..

this is my first time dealing with TPMS sensors... so I am somewhat of a newbie...... apologies for the questions....

    Correct.

That’s the best option if you want to go back and forth between wheels.

I have the ATEQ Quickset X and three season / winter wheels with OEM sensors in both sets and swap the TPMS in and out using the ATEQ tool and OEM sensors.

If I were to do it again (and didn’t get wheels with OEM sensors already in there) I’d have gone Autel with cloneable sensors.

after you pay the tire store 4 times to swap, you will see the value in having the tool. if I remember correctly, I bought mine new off ebay for way cheaper than that, in 2020. seems they have a new version with wifi updates for around the 149.00 mark. not sure if it is better or not. ebay has the one I have for 239.00 your results may vary. Thank you @MikeyMcFly
    and also thank you @skidooboy...

of course they make it expensive. I'd rather know how to do it AND have the tool than be a "prisoner" to the shop or even worse the dealership.
