This would actually be personal preference.
Going too high on CASTER will stress you rack-n-pinion. It's a fine balance with handling and stress on these IFS components.
Caster is to Improve handling and reduce bump steer.
The higher you go it will feel more stable and resistant to directional changes but it's not good for your other components.
This is why an adjustable UCA is a great thing to have. So you are able to dial it in.

    But again it's personal preference.

The relationship is a bit different too because of position of the steering rack on 1st and 2nd gens.

This may be true? But the stress of how Caster affects dynamics of the vehicle is universal.

I agree it changes the feel dramatically, that's why I run 3.5*. Reducing bump steer should reduce stress to the rack as well. My point was that your steering rack is positioned in front of the centerline of your spindles whereas mine is behind so leaning the spindle back for positive caster affects the loading angles differently. It brings mine closer to parallel the LCA angle.

The impact of a few degrees of caster on the bump steer on these rigs are minimal. I would not let it affect the decision on the amount caster you want on your truck. Meanwhile a few degrees of caster makes a world of difference.

This maybe true? (I haven't done extensive R&D on this)
But I do know that it is above the intended design of the Toyota Engineers.
Does it add stress to your rack? I would assume so. (But so does the larger tires) Only time will tell.
Just things to be aware of.
Not saying my research is the "Ultimate" and "Only way"
Only providing the data from my own personal experience.
Having a Fixed component vs. an Adjustable one? I'd go for "Adjustable" all day! (That's just me I like to "Tinker" with things)
A lot of people like the install and go components.
But then they are on these forums asking why this or that happened?

I just provide information and allow people to decide for themselves which is better for their intended use.

In one sentence you contradicted yourself??

I'm with ya on the tinkering. Caster induced wear (if it does happen) falls pretty low on my list of concerns when the truck is a dedicated wheeler with way larger than stock tires anyway. But man being able to cruise at 85mph on the highway without it being darty on 12.5" wide tires is a real nice ability even if I had to dial it in with the upper arm.

This truck had 2.8* of caster and drove great at 85 mph. If your truck is a bit "Darty" it might be you have Neutral or Positive TOE??

My Jeep was a bit "Darty" at anything over 70 mph. Added a bit of Negative TOE and she drives great! Solid as a rock above 70 mph. Both vehicle on 35" tires.

Not darty now, but I am towed in ever so slightly, bout a 1/16". I have the blessing or maybe curse of having access to an alignment rack whenever I please so I got to play with it until it was pretty stock feeling. We have lots of road crown and rut wear here from snowtires so if you don't tow in and have a bit of cross caster you'll find your truck tramlining or if you're not quite as wide as the ruts you'll dart in and out of them.

This and the fact that you don't even own a 1st gen are reason enough for me to NOT listen to anything you post.

See this shows how Ignorant you are! To assume that I don't have a 1st gen. (The "FACT" that you don't listen to "FACTS" proves that!)
    I currently own a 2003 Tacoma, a 2000 4runner, a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a 2021 Tacoma. (Don't even get me started on motorcycles!)

I've been working on Toyota truck since Toyota came out with a 4x4 pickup!

I'm ignorant but you're posting other people's videos and treating them like it's the Bible or something. I don't recall asking about what you own or what you built, I really dont care. You literally compared the best UCA on the market to a cheap Ebay one and said they're the same. Your opinions are worthless to me.

I don't recall saying anything about the finish. Is that how you buy parts? If they're shiny enough? Pretty pathetic, like your responses.
