Wife was hospitalized for 2 months within a week after we had our son so we don't want to risk anything ever again

    Definitely

Was a real shit time but it's mostly over!

All this side work is really a hobby for me as I enjoy all of it

And learning new things is something I always look forward to; seems bending and forming will be the new journey

I am sure you know the difference between fun and this needs finished to pay the bills .

I tend to remember what I read!

Fortunately none of the side work is needed for that!

But doing the work allows me to stay consistent in doing something every week.

I mean if it weren't for some of the stuff I offer on here alone, I wouldn't be getting into tooling and bending as much as I'm wanting to now.

Locally, I've just been making parts which reminds me I need to stop by the other shop to grab the disc brake adapter I'm supposed to reproduce for him.

@Kwikvette Did you try out this bottom die setup? I have some heavy wall 1" square tube that I think I might give this a try with.

Mainly just recommendation from the more seasoned users on LS forum and the fact when I called Primeweld the tech on the phone suggested it as the simplest method. He told me " It wont affect the warranty, but I don't think you need to go raw voltage. But if you do, the easiest way is just tap and straight out the side of the case." My machine is a 1st gen and they were at one time pulled from LS approved list due to excessive EMI.

I was having really frequent FCtrl freeze ups that turned out to be the lack of a graphics card in the Dell Latitude I was using to run FCtrl. I took every known EMI reduction countermeasure and went raw voltage, but no luck. Finally got hold of an Asus and that solved it. Since I've gone to the Beelink mini pc as I showed in earlier post. It's working really well. 4USB ports so I have W/L mouse, K/Borad, table controller, and thumbdrive for transferring files from Asus (F360) to table. Wireless in my gage is a bit weak so email method not my first choice for file mgmt.

Made a few Halloween decorations last few evenings:

    18 gauge, 28 amps, 3400 mm/min, 1.1mm cut height, IHS Springback 0.0, pierce 0.6secs

backside is orange limbs over black trunks.

Accidentally hit post before I added this one. Warehouse guy where I buy my steel has a Dean MLX guitar tat on his arm. I was asking him about it and he asked if I could make him a sign of one. The neck still sucks but he'll be fine with it since its a freebie.

I got about 2 hrs of CAD time in on this so he better be "finding" me some scrap steel in the future.

Yeah I've only read about the issues 1st gen CUT60s had, that must have sucked so bad trying to troubleshoot stuff.

It sucks I had a component fail, but glad that it was component failure vs something harder to measure like what you dealt with

I can handle dialing stuff in, troubleshooting, etc

What pisses me off is when something doesn't go right, and it's attributed to something outside of my control

Nice job, saw those pieces and downloaded a few. Especially the ghosts to cut out of the large squares left over from yesterday's work

    Oh man old post already

Scroll back 3 pages, you'll see I used it

It did create a tighter radius than the stock block, but I require air bending versus bottom bending/coining

Whoops, didnt see you used that setup. I thought that change was getting rid of the relief cuts only.

Yes, the tighter radius block was intended to do such a thing

After more reading and research, I need a v block with appropriately 20-30mm of an opening at a 65 degree angle more or less

This will support the walls and prevent warpage as another factor comes into play with these parts, flange to feature

I have holes that are too close to the bend line that will cause the issues I'm having

When I start learning something new...I tend to nerd out

    Dude that's so badass

I actually gave my business cards to the three different people that have all hooked me up with steel, letting them know I'd be happy to offer something for them if they felt a need (and I'd share some pics on my phone to give them ideas)

What you made is really awesome

i could easily solder that up for you if you really wanted. no worse than doing SMD components...

lol, there'd have to be money left from my own tool purchases for that!
