Enduro seems like it would be an absolute blast. I should probably get more practice in with my throttle and clutch control before I attempt it though

Yeah, he does a good job of falling inline and getting some decent shots.
Right. Hell, if my body didn’t hurt getting outta bed, I’d definitely try it. Getting old sucks.

I'd be shocked if the bead isn't seated and you're riding it that way. Mix some dish soap and water in a spray bottle then start by spraying the valve stem and area around it. They usually remove the stem core and sometimes don't snug it up enough when reinstalling. If it bubbles that's your leak. No bubbles, then keep spraying around the rim and make sure it isn't leaking somewhere around the rim itself. Inspect the tread area, you may have picked something up when riding.

I'm only realizing these past couple days how much riding dirt beats up your body...haven't been this sore since my heavy lifting days lol. So i figure I gotta get in as much riding as I can while my body can still recover efficiently, and the soreness isn't constant haha

True dat. But I’d take the beat up off road riding over the beat up at work, any day.

    Ain't that the truth lol.

What I would give to be paid to ride all day long...hell you could throw me on a Vespa and I'd be happy as a clam in high tide

Good advice, thanks! I’ve been checking a bit and haven’t noticed any foreign objects in the tread. I’ll try the bottle method and see if I can get anything to present itself. The leak is incredibly slow, just need to air it up a bit every week or so to get it back to 40.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Brappp, everyone should try some enduro or off-road!
Then use a heating pad that evening and next morning ;)

Have you pissed anyone off lately? I have a friend who gets petty revenge by coating a BB with Loctite and dropping it in the caps of his enemies. The loctite makes it stay put, and when the cap is installed it's a slow leak. People wind up replacing tires and such. I'm not condoning it, but if he knows it somebody else might have figured it out. If you have a BB or a pebble in your cap it can cause slow leaks.

Speaking of the Super Ten, I hear/read that it likes to dive into corners and can take some time to get used to. Do you find this to be the case? Would you recommend the bike to a noob like me who only has 1000-1500 miles or so experience split between a big fat cruiser and my little CB500X?

I actually got paid to go for a ride once at my current job. Customer left some mounting pins attached to the hydraulic cylinders they sent us for repair. Realized they needed them on a job site and needed them within 24 hours. I realized they'd fit in my FJR saddlebags so I offered to deliver them over 200 miles away. Stayed on the clock until I returned to the shop, paid mileage for use of my personal vehicle, and turnpike tolls reimbursed. Over 400 miles plus overtime I made out pretty well.

Now that sounds like a perfect gig. If I could get that full time I'd be on it. Climate won't allow that here.

I'd say get some more miles under your belt with a lighter manageable powered bike. The best thing you can do is ride your current bike with everything it's got before moving up to a bigger bike with more power and weight that will get you into trouble quicker.

The Super tenere is honestly surprising on the road given it's very laxidasical geometry, event stock it is rather nimble once over 5mph. I have actual raised the rear ~ 1.25in loaded with some raising links, which decreases head angle by ~1deg for this wheelbase which will make steering "quicker".

As I have said before, I am 100% quicker in the canyons on the Super tenere vs my old naked sport bike (Honda 919)... Even though the 919 was 100lbs less, ohlins rear, race tech front suspension and made the same HP and torque. The Super Teneres (as well as most adv bikes) extra suspension travel for real world conditions, abs, traction control, ergonomic seated position and wide bars make for a WAAAAAAAY more usable bike. I love the thing.

That stated. It's antiquated. Not much if any has changed on it since 2014

Climate won't allow it here either!

I had a few other occasions where I wasn't paid to ride but I did benefit. Got to help lead demo rides on Buell and Triumph bikes at an event once. Free admission for the whole weekend, meals, t-shirts, and all I had to do was ride whichever bike was left out of the demo units each round and make sure everyone stayed with the group.

This is a huge part of the draw for me. It's got all the new tech from 10 years ago, but not all the current garbage. Kinda like the Taco and the Tundra. I may have a type. :anonymous:

I'm shopping them because I see deals on cycle trader, and I'm considering pouncing this winter. Even if I store it for a season to get another good chunk of experience on the CB500X, I have been hunting high and low for the seating position that ADV bikes give on a shaft drive in as small a displacement as possible while still being liquid cooled. The Super Ten is the only one that makes a lick of financial sense and has any kind of dealer support near me. BMWs are overpriced, too complex, and dealer support doesn't exist within any distance I'm willing to travel. They seem to be the only other shaft drive game in town.

If honda had gone shaft drive on the TransAlp I'd be considering it. Shaft drive seems to only be for the liter plus bikes, though. I just know at some point I will want a bit more than the CB500X and so I'm thinking of grabbing before they drop or change the Super Tenere.

Yup. He's an evil genius for sure. Pretty sure he did it to his former boss, but IDK.
