    Beautiful pics

I've got one and it can save up to 30% on rates. My biggest gripe is a "harsh stop" like when someone pulls in front of you, when they shouldn't have, or you notice the yellow light and slam on the brakes. I get counting them when you do it multiple times a day, but once every 2 or 3 months, shouldn't affect your rates. It's optional and I've played their game for over a year now... not sure how much longer I'll do it for

So pretty. I need to add that to my bucket list

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Had a review with my State Farm agent last Thursday. She asked if I was interested in using one of those devices to possibly get a rate discount. I said thanks, but no. I drive fairly assertively (ex-wife said I drive like an a$$hole), brake hard for corners, accelerate fairly hard out of corners at times. I'm sure they'd raise my rates, even though I've only had one minor crash in my nearly 50 years of driving, when they saw the data.

3 hours of chasing down the no power to the kitchen scenario, we are finally sitting down to dinner. Of course it was the outlet in the bathroom that I didn’t even know was on that circuit. IMG_9466.jpgThe culprit…

I had one of those obd2 devices with USAA when I was still living in Washington. I agreed to use it because they promised that the data collection would be anonymous and not tied directly to me. Otherwise I’d have told them to keep it. I had to send it back when I moved to Tennessee because the program wasn’t offered here.

I went through that pass on my way west in ‘21. That was a beautiful drive.

My bathroom gfi outlet runs my outside outlet on the back of the house. :notsure:
I have rerouted a few circuits to make more sense. Like you, some stray outlet in the other side of the house.

I don't recall how, when, or why my needle phobia started. But for many years, my blood pressure would drop very low as soon as I saw the tray of vacuum tubes and needle, so naturally that made it much more difficult for anyone to be able to get a needle into a vein.

What made my phobia peg to maximum levels, the Army medics that had to draw for AIDS testing I mentioned earlier... 18/19 year old E2/E3's.... when they would have trouble, they would start poking the needle around sideways, in and out, looking for a vein. I do not have the words to properly describe that feeling. But I would rather mash my hand in a car door that have that experience ever again. And that happened with almost every person who tried to draw blood. For years and years.

When my first wife and I were getting married, CA back then still required blood testing to get a marriage license. So we went to a clinic. They had 3 different people try, including their "best drawer, who can always do the difficult people", they poked me twice in each arm. Went "looking" each time. Never got a damn drop. After the 2nd stick, I was as white as a sheet and had passed out sitting up, so they had me lay down to keep trying. By the time their 4th attempt was over, my GF was in a panic just from looking at me, and how pale I was. I told them to stop, no more tries. We ended up getting a Confidential Marriage License, which was used if you were already living together, and it did not require a blood test.

What really helped me get to the point where I don't pass out any more, in 2007 I was in the hospital for 33 days recovering from a spinal cord injury. They drew blood every single damn day. 0600 in the morning. Fortunately for me, the young lady who did it, drew blood hundreds of times every day, and she was awesome! She never missed, and never had to "go looking" for a vein. I told her I wished I could have cloned her and carried her around for the rest of my life for every time I needed blood drawn. I wasn't kidding.

About 10 years ago, while getting a pre-surgery check up, the nurse tried to get blood. She did find a vein rather easily, but she only got literally a few drops, then it stopped flowing. She looked at me, said "You are severely dehydrated". She held up the vial, upside down... my blood barely flowed towards the other end of the vial. She told me the trick is to drink lots of water an hour before having blood drawn. That does two things: it helps keep the blood pressure up so the veins don't collapse when the needle comes along, and it helps the blood flow much easier once they get a vein. She had me drink lots of water for the next 30 minutes, then tried again. Bingo!

To this day, I drink a ton of water an hour before I have blood drawn. It does indeed make things MUCH easier.
