    I just got a dreaded p1300 on an on-ramp.

I wanted to think its crap gas when im at near empty but i guess a p1300 on other vendors it can be just a 'mass' misfire but with yota its a lack of an IGR signal meaning IGT signals (make spark plug spark) never happened. So....

Afraid my Greedy EMU might be showing signs of age and eco friendly solder. Im thinking i want to go back to OEM'ish sized injectors and a rising rate FPR so that IF the EMU craps on a drive i can just unplug the PNP harness and still get home.

    What say the forum?

I run the PSB-1 and like it because it is a 2 in 1. I will say that I've had to replace the wideband O2 sensor once.

I have the SCG-1 and personally I just find that having everything separate makes more sense and would be easier to manage and track. You can only display two things at once and tbh its really just one thing

I got one of those AEMs that show boost and AF all in one thinking id love it but i find it hard to interpret at speed. Ill probably stick to discrete gauges from now on unless something digital like a tablet (which would still have torque app like discrete gauges haha)

What guages are people running? I only have a boost guage. Should I be monitoring anything else?

If the solder is going bad you can bake the pcb in the oven to remelt the solder.

Yep. Fixed an Nvidia card that way, and had an outfit fix my IS250 CPU that way. Just a shame it even needs to be done as the industry didn't do good environmental testing when they went green/low lead solder about a decade or more back.

Being pragmatic (prepper'ish?), I have an older AEM FIC PNP setup that I just keep in the back area just in case, but I'm going to play around with the idea of a raising rate FMU w/ OEM sized injectors setup while keeping the EMU as it still does:
    - timing retard in boost
    - can actually advance timing over OEM ECU baseline in vacuum /E85
    - has a really cool map to do additional timing retard during auto trans shifts (bit reason I left the AEM FIC)

Why do a rising rate FMU setup w/ OEM'ish injectors on top of all of that? So when/if the EMU shits, I can just pop open the glove box, remove some screws and unplug the PNP harness and still drive home without issue (just avoid full boost).

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to purchase some extra vacuum line as well as the fitting that goes attached to the hex bolt next to the throttle body for my trd boost gauge? I also have to replace the light bulb in the gauge since the last owner swapped it out for a blue led, but i can do that later after I get everything buttoned up.

I'd recommend reading through the Turbo BS Thread next. Like you I read through here taking notes and then went with a turbo but regardless of what method of boost you choose there is good info to be had.

I'll recommend adding a Transgo Shift kit
For the A340 to the list.

I also use the PSB-1 guage. I've been happy with the guage even though I had a couple issues that were my own fault (I may have fryed the 02 sensor by driving around for a couple hours when it didn't have power due to a faulty connection I made so I can't blame the quality for the malfunction).

I do get an E9 error code from time to time on the PSB-1 but can't seem to find anything that mentions what the error code means. The manual only mentions an E2 error of the O2 sensor isn't plugged in.

I've also had a couple times where the AFR stops reading and goes back into a heat cycle.
but when it's reading it appears to be accurate
    Screenshot_2023-09-21-02-27-35-66_92460851df6f172a4592fca41cc2d2e6.jpg

It can be hard to read both displays at the same time but I leave mine displaying the AFR on the bigger section and can press the left button twice to show me what my max boost was after the fact. AFR for me is more important, the boost number is safer to view while the foots not in the skinny pedal.

I took a cheap A pillar mount and molded it to the center console with a heat gun. It's a little crude for a first time attempt but I like not having it in my face especially since the dimmer feature it's wired up yet
    IMG_20230905_174145.jpg
I can still access the outlets even though I've never used either of them.

Thanks for the info, looks like I have another massive thread to lose myself in! I ended up ordering the TVS1320 just because it's such an easy bolt on. I'll have to keep the TransGo kit on my list.

I like your gauge position, I might have to mess around with where I put mine now. As for the E9 error code, the back of my PSB-1 manual says that is for "Supply Voltage Too Low" so you might want to look at your wiring.

    @ridah4824

Do you plan to run your tvs1320 right out of the box? Stock ecu, stock injectors with a RR fpr, and stock size pulley?

No haltech, no larger injectors etc...

Lastly, what climate and elevation are you at?

Pretty much, yes. Plan to run it stock out of the box with a couple changes. Here is my plan/parts list I ordered (not including gaskets, etc.). Definitely open to any criticisms or additional suggestions.

    • TVS1320 as it comes stock
    • New injectors (talked to Martin Diaz at MotorWest and he suggested their HP5194 upgraded injectors as a drop in replacement with slightly higher flow rates)
    • Hayden 678 transmission cooler
    • Innovate PSB-1 AFR/ boost gauge
    • K&N cold air intake
Not sure what you meant by "RR fpr". But currently planning to use stock everything except what is listed above. Transgo Shift kit is on the future potential list.

I am in the Boston, MA area, so sea level and about every climate you can imagine haha.

Very helpful info! Thank you! When does your kit show up? I have a buddy with his credit card ready to order one of these here in a more moderate climate (Northern CA).

RR fpr = rising rate fuel pressure regulator (eg Vortech, Cartech, etc)

I believe the kit includes one to meet fuel demands while on boost. Like the vortech unit that's part of @1997tacomav6 setup.

EDIT: sorry, i looked at the parts list and it didnt included a RR fpr.

They estimated 4-6 weeks for me when I ordered earlier this week, so hopefully I'll have it in hand soon enough! Thanks for the clarity on the RR FPR, I don't currently have it on my list, as I didn't think it was necessary (especially in stock form), but it is something to consider I guess
