I have complained to the dealership about shuddering for 13 months with no positive results. Finally, a Toyota Tech came to town and kept my taco for 4 days. Replaced the rear springs, rear brakes, realigned both drive shafts and installed a steering damper. Truck rides and drives like it should now. Taco had 20,000 miles on it before Toyota fixed it. Said a service bulletin was coming out because of the number of shuddering complaints on the 2021 Taco.

First welcome! Shuddering how? was this on the highway or regular roads? Did they say what the cause was? Looks like they just threw parts at it. I have a 21 with over 40k and I’ve never had any shudder issues that I’m aware of.

Give us his phone number so we can complain about white paint failures not being remedied on Tacomas, even though they do all other models for free. Maybe he can help.

Ok, that won't help, but it made me feel better.

I'm glad you got a cure for your issue.

Was this the shudder that happens around 40-50 mph when it feels like the truck is in the wrong gear or something else?

More info? Shuddering or vibration ? There’s already been a tsb for vibration on deceleration between 30-10mph. Replace leaf springs and add steering dampner is the fix

The same fix was done to my 2018 years ago , pretty much eliminated the decel rumble strip vibrations , that TSB has been around for quite some time , they just keep applying it to newer trucks

I can't believe all the poor quality complaints after covid on these tacoma's...it's like getting a truck from the big three.

Totally agree. The quality has dropped massively since covid.

I haven't had a single issue yet on my tacoma that was built in feb. of 2020. After that its seems quality just kept getting worse.

I see posts constantly about valve cover oil leaks, rear diff whines, and vibrations more and more often. Don’t ever recall hearing any of these things before covid . Biggest complaint was gear hunting

Yep, as far as the gear hunting, I had the issue for the first 1200 miles, now its been perfect since...best operating auto I've ever owned.
