    Floyd Hill has almost everything.

White ranch if you want a brutal climb with long, fun descents.

North or South Table Mtn if you want beginner riding while sharing the trail with 25% of Denver.

Apex is good too but it’s governed by even/odd calendar days

    Perfect description of the area.
I'd suggest waking up early and getting to Trestle (if it's still running).

Leaves are starting to turn, and the lifts are stopping. Took the eeb out for the first time since early spring. Squeezed in a 25 mile, 4500ft ride after work. Such good times and an appreciate having the ability to get out there after a long day.

Just like mountain bikes, it looks like van pricing is beginning to crash down as well. From $160k to $93K

Yes indeed! Though I've not heard much good about the Winnebago built vans, especially the Solis. Apparently they mounted a generator super low, where the spare tire goes, and it will barely make it down a rough forest road.

About time, people being brought back to office and WFH slowly dwindling away this isn’t surprising. I don’t even WFH and I’m kind of upset about it though. I’d like to pursue a job that doesn’t require travel every day.

What kills me with WFH is that all these companies got good at it the last few years. They invested in the infrastructure, trained employees, purchased the software, etc....To throw all that away in name of "being more productive by being in the office" is narrow sighted at best. I have worked from home for the last 11 years with my own company and can honestly say that I put in the same effort as when I was in the office, yet get a lot more done without commute time and less distractions.

I'll be the first to admit I will mow the lawn during the day, take care of chores, go for a bike ride, basically have some 'me time' during operating hours; but when quantified against how much I would pace the office or talk to coworkers during pointless project meetings, its all relatively the same. WFH means I don't live and die by the 9-5 office clock, but I live and die by my deadlines instead. It really is not as detrimental as managers seem to think, but can't have all that office space on my monthly overhead and not be utilized!

Same can be said for all my town and regulatory meetings. Log into my computer 10 minutes before the meeting starts, fire up zoom and join in, then have everything I could possibly need for my presentation at my fingertips and have all my material two clicks away to share. Now some of these towns are making in person meetings mandatory because the elder generation is not fully competent being present - tonight I have to leave two hours early for a 15 minute presentation. Brutal...

I'm a mix. Sometimes I get more done at home, sometimes more in the office. I choose to go in to the office (it's near me) on some days when nobody's there so it's nice and quiet but also is a good separation between home and work. But there are definitely days that I'm content to stay home and work but also do house chores. Just depends on my mood.

We are still fully remote. At this point, there is no way I could do everything I do in a day without being remote. Between our dog, making dinner 3-5 times a week, grad school, and training I barely have any time as it is haha. No way I could fit in 1-2 hours of commuting a day without impacting life outside of work. I used to be all about that company man life but not anymore.

Don't even get me started on my town and the meetings though haha

The best thing that came out of Covid was working from home. There is no way I'm going back to working in the office full time. As it stands, I go in about once a month and since I'm a subcontractor. I made WFH a part of my contract. I used to travel cross country every week for work before Covid. I ain't going back to that life.

I’ll be the first to tell you I personally love teleworking but I hate leading people teleworking. I once considered myself a leader but now I am just a taskmaster. For every conversation/mtg I have in person, I then have to summarize it in an email. If I fail to do the email then someone who is sitting at home in their pajamas whines about not being informed.

For added clarity, I work on multiple closed networks that are not available for home use. I do like the flexibility for an individual to work from home when they are taking care of a sick family member or having a contractor do work.

Did the guy in the video start off with pinkbike and transitioned to making youtube vids or did he start off with youtube and got picked up for a couple years by pinkbike?

For those interested... I added a frame bag from RoadRunner Bags to my hardtail to make it a bit more commute friendly. That's tiding me over until I decide on more committing options.

Yeah he started on Youtube, used to be IFHT, now it's Mahalo My Dude. They have a pretty good podcast. They talk about why he left Youtube and went to Pinkbike and back in one of the first episodes.

Agreed. I have me and my second in office and two that are WFH. It's a mess vs everyone being in office, but the last thing I want to do is make someone sit in a cube and process invoices incoming/outgoing all day that could be done from literally anywhere.
