No, so far the only rubbing I've had under full compression is at the very back of the well if I'm turning full lock.
It actually hasn't even rubbed all the way to the fender, and has only been rubbing into the insulation material (or whatever it's called). It's on my list to take care of once my break in period is over.

So have read a bunch. I have some 17x7.5 +15 offset FJ rims I want to install these tires on (285/75/17). These will be street tires and never off-road (I have another set for that). Am I wrong to assume I'll need different UCA's but not need much, if any trimming? I do have a OME lift installed. Thanks.....

Nice looking taco man! We have a similar theme going on. I love the contrast of black Alu-Cab boxyness and the silver taco. Very sharp.

Thanks man, your’s looks really good as well. I really like those F5’s. The alucab has definitely been one of the best investments I’ve made on the truck.

Anyone else running Toyo AT3’s in E load? If so, what tire pressure are you running? I’m currently rolling at 36 lbs.IMG_1953.jpg

This thread convinced me on the perfect tire size. pulled the trigger and got my truck back from the shop. IMO these are the perfect size for the Tacoma without having to do any major mods like gearing to fit them.

I'll tell you though, after running 285/75/17s & 5.29s, it makes a WORLD of difference. I even had my 5.29s in for a week or two on OEM/stock tires before my lift came in, and after that, I'd even be good with 5.29s stock.

IMO, unless you ONLY drive pancake flat roads with 0 hills, 0 off roading, and 0 towing, regearing with a tire that is basically a 34 (closer to a 34 than a 33) is very wise, and 100% worth it if you can swing it.

It is ironic you state "unless you ONLY drive flat roads" what else is there is the Omaha area?

lol - haven't been here in a while huh? Or ever?
it's got 1.5 million people in it, spread out over an area that takes now about 35 min to fully cross with normal hills.....Omaha isnt the Sandhills.
Although, last time I checked no one tends to vacation in their own city anyway, or at least we don't.
Usually it's a 2-3k round trip with our OGT off-road trailer

I lived in Papillion for a short period of time and it is not an area that makes me think of off roading unless mudding/mud pits. But than again that probably does not happen either do to the mud being nothing but clay.

You're not wrong, there can be a LOT of mud.................which is why all of our vacations take place a LONG ways away from the city.

Thats why this is what our vacations normally look like:

Its a remote dispersed camp area in the Pecos Wilderness area, a bit north of Tererro NM, and about and hour NW of Santa Fe New Mexico. We hit 72mph winds the night that pic was taken and utterly RIPPED apart our OD awning in that pic.

Hey all, getting ready to upgrade my wheels and tires. Quick question that I can’t seem to find a definitive answer to. Will wheels with 0 offset and 4.75 backspace and a 285 tire clear SPC UCA? Everyone seems to say 0 offset 4.5 BS is the ideal spec for clearing both the UCA and cab mount but many 17in wheels don’t come in that spec. I don’t really mind if I end up having to do CMC/Pinch weld but don’t really wanna spend the money on new wheels and end up having to put a spacer on them. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

How do those tires do in rain and snow? Any other issues since you had them?
