Hey do you guys think it’s worth getting an older 3rd gen than the one I have already for the v6 trd sports package or should I stick to my I4 SR5?

Yes, swap to the V6, a better built truck.

V6 isn't that much faster. Keep the 4 banger. Lots more wear and tear on everything with 50k miles vs 30k. V6 has its fair share of issues/failures. If you want more power buy a different kind of vehicle.

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

The Devil you know might be better than the one you don't.

If your current truck meets your needs and is in good condition there doesn't seem much advantage to going back years & gaining miles.

Take excellent care of what you have.

    Work in progress...
I have the 17 TRD Sport 4x4 with almost 90,000 miles on it now. I was kinda batting around the idea of trading my Tacoma in on a new Ford Ranger. Instead I ordered a new front bumper for the Tacoma. Sometimes you might want to just get your truck a new set of wheels or something. Saves big bucks compared with all the taxes, registration, etc.

Why do you want/need the V6? Probably ask yourself that question then see if it’s worth trading or not

4x4 or 2WD on both? I know a lot of I4s end up being 2WD so that could be a good option for you

Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
    Leaving the engines aside.
Doesn't the 21 have the stupid automatic collision avoidance, and the truck applying the brakes for you?

If so I would get rid of that crap and get the 17 that doesn't have a camera and computer system deciding when to apply the brakes for you.

Sounds like you want the Trd package period . If you do change trucks I would say at least go to a same age or newer Tacoma . Remember the 24’s are coming and the 17 will be 7 years old . That’s not a huge problem but it’s something to be aware of . As far as the V6 motor, it’s fine . My 19 has been nothing but stellar. The only thing that’s been done is the fuel pump recall , and the TSB on the rear light ( which never leaked ). Other than that, I change the oil and rotate the tires / air filter etc . Power wise it’s fine . It’s a pick up truck not a sports car .Do what makes you happy, you only live once .
