I have a 2001 Tacoma prerunner 3.4 crew cab. He has been for 6 years. I started to repair it. I already changed the fuel pump, and everything necessary for major maintenance. The engine starts and everything seems to work fine.

But the next day I found dead a new battery. Take a reading of the current and it is drawing almost 2A on the positive terminal. Remove the fuse from the EFI and the current drops to 0A

    Any suggestions?

Pull the efi relay and see if it goes away. It's possible it has a stuck efi relay.

Yes, when I place the positive pole the efi relay can be heard. I already changed it and the 1.9A continues

I appreciate the private message! I already answered.

    If this is the case?
Check the triggering circuit for the relay. If the relay is ground actuated it might be shorted? Something must be tell the relay to turn on. Or the new relay might be bad also?

I am receiving power from the engine control module in MREL. Something tells my ECM to energize

Unplug Connector E5 from the PCM and see if the EFI relay turns off and your drain goes away.

If it doesn't the the MREL wire is shorted to power somewhere, if it does then you need to check the Ignition input to the PCM (E5 Pin 2 (Black/White)) and make sure it doesn't have voltage on it with the key off.

You're right, the leak is gone. Now it's only 0.5A and the EFI relay is off

And the pin B5-2 is without voltage, if I turn on the key it energizes with 12V

Wonder where the 0.5 A is going or did you have the door open?

So it seems something has happened to the PCM causing it to keep the EFI Relay energized.

When I removed the connector you mentioned, pin 2 went to 0V and 12V when I turned on the key, and the MREL was always at 0V.

So Pin 8 (Black/Orange) of that connector is always 0v but the EFI Relay stays on with it plugged in?

    That's what I fear.
I did the test with the P5 connector in place and if the MREL is at 0V, but it still powers up. I think the 12V comes from another side
Do you know where the IF1 that I show in the image is.

Pop out the EFI relay with the key off, everything else plugged in and check the pins.

    Pin 1 should be 0v
    Pin 2 should be 0v
    Pin 3 should be 0v
Pin 5 should be battery voltage

    YES.
I connected the E5 and measured the voltage again and they are at 0V until I turn on the key, it is the strangest thing, I did it with a pin on the E5-8 and it is 0V, and I turn on the key and it goes to 12V.
But in the fuse box there are 12 in the EFI relay

Looks like it's on the left side above the kick panel.
