I got the truck tuned at the same time I took the air dam off. Can't contribute the slight increase in mpg to OV tune or taking it off.

I took it off and thought it looked naked or like something was missing. Put it right back on. I admit it looks better off on lifted trucks. But stock height, with mudflaps, and side steps that also hang down, it fits right in. IMHO.

I guess someone here needs to inform the engineers at toyota they could save a ton of money for the company by not making these spoilers. I fail to believe they are there for decorative purposes only.

I like my air dam and the “premium look” it gives to my truck. My Tacoma is sport-tuned for the road; aero, tires, suspension and trim (yeah including the fake scoop!). I don’t do off-roading with it. It is a sport truck. It is staying on.

Better mileage after taking spoiler off = engine not broke in and/or computer still learning.

After I took mine off, I won $40 on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
    Anyone else have similar experiences?

I took mine off to install the TRD skid plate on my Tacoma. Didn’t notice a difference in mpg, noise, etc.

I took mine off so that rocks and mud wouldn’t do it for me. I couldn’t tell the difference on MPG or noise.

Has anyone put the bolts back in the holes after removing the air dam? Any reason I should do this before I put the whole kit & caboodle in the attic? Can't see where it would make a difference. Do they secure the bottom of the bumper in any way? Thank you!

I didn’t put the bolts back in. I compared mine with my brother’s off-road. No bolts. Probably doesn’t matter either way.

Quick reminder that rocks and mud have essentially never ever done that. But if you like the braless look, cool.

I live off an unimproved dirt road that has plenty of mud, rocks, and holes every spring. My air dam is no worse for wear, plus I've busted through plenty of 2' snowbanks that were left at the end of my driveway.

I believe you may have left out… those multi-colored plastic thingies hanging down the wall circa 80’s style… nice.
