That’s awesome! I would do the same if I had a daughter , much respect :)
I have a son so basically I told him he is on his own but to always carry an extra clip :D
And Most importantly Never point center mass to stop the threat always just a tad higher.

    Violent Crime Rates By State

    Overwhelmingly the southern states.

See a lot of mindless folk reciting propaganda talking points.

If you live in a state with 3 people, you are probably good.

Facts here, no politics. Good luck OP.

It was definitely a conversation starter, when you walk into a place carrying your steering wheel. ;)

Boston has a major thing with this for the past several years, look up Mass and Cass.

I was in the area recently and it honestly is sad. Sad people live that way. Sad that I saw police officers standing there watching it all unable to do anything really. Sad for the people who live and work there (a friend of mine works in the area and it terrifies her). I told my wife don't get more than 2 feet from me and just look straight ahead.

The whole time I had a sinking feeling something was about to go seriously wrong. Fortunately it didn't. But I've heard enough about violence etc, besides the open drug use and whatnot.

Plus the bike sharing service in the area, I saw so many of those bikes there. I've heard of people who use the service being robbed for the bikes and then they just end up at the encampments.

Removable face plate. Yup, had one of those too from alpine. Only thing I could not hide or take with me were my speakers. 2×10" woofers, 2×8" bass tubes, mids and tweeters.
    All in a tiny crx:oops:

that’s why I live in a stand your ground state and would position myself in a way that would make the thief likely to try to run through me to get away - at that point I am standing my ground and am free to handle the threat to whatever level I feel is appropriate, just so happens I usually feel really really really threatened by thieves running at me so my actions (however severe) are justified in the eyes of the law - go ahead punk make my day

I had mine back in the 90's. All before air bags were mandatedin every vehicle. Honestly, i think air bags may due more harm than good. Look up recall on airbags, plus what I have witnessed. Crumple zones do a better job afais :burnrubber:

I'm of the philosophy that an ounce of situational awareness prevents a metric ton of confrontations. I never lead crazy to my personal property because I know exactly what's going to happen. They're going to attack the property. Instead I double back into the store knowing that 99 percent of the time it fizzles out there, and for that last 1 percent... well at least I have no emotional attachment to the ground-cover I'm going to be using.

Same with driving home and getting followed by a road rager. I don't go home. I pull into the nearest busy parking lot and make slow circles, using the terrain to block the confrontation. Not hiding, but not escalating either. That's happened twice, and fortunately it deescalated twice.

Hey, if I want to table-sit at the good restaurant all night, drive extra slow over the pass, get my Chevy stuck on your favorite hiking-only trail, and loudly complain to every hotel that my phone isn't getting good signal, what better place to do that? :cookiemonster:

So really why the obsession with cities like san francisco and nyc? Its almost like there are some nefarious agendas in play? Hmmmmm.

Faceplate, bah. Pulled the whole stereo out..Blaupunkt. Yeah those were pretty quickly phased out by the faceplate option but I wasn't about to dump my $800 radio for that reason. I remember someone (Blaupunkt or Alpine) briefly had one that you needed a credit card style of piece to use.

I had a few nice setups but fortunately people rarely looked in the shitbox I drove

DC leads the pack when it comes to property and violent crime. Both Deleware and Maryland do pretty bad in both categories, those states are worse than NY and NJ and they are all onthe east coast. I'd like to see what 2023 numbers look like. If you think property crime isn't a problem look at your insurance bill.

I'd like to look at all reported crime per location and not break it down per 100k people, it's not like it's 100k people out committing crimes. Those numbers would tell a different story. Look at the Dakotas lots of land and hardly any people not a lot of crime there, then compare their stats to Alaska and Hawaii.

    Edit
    [IMG]

Look at the rate of auto theft for the 1st half of 22 compared to 23. You can't just file a lawsuit against Hyundai Kia, blame Tik Tok, and burry your head in the sand.

Statistics have the flexibility of soybeans. And they will soon be making recovery points using soybeans.

Street level matters more than official reports. People running businesses in the "urban tent camps" of San Francisco, DC, etc ... and even Phoenix (a judge ordered the city to clear out a tent camp by November 4 that businesses want cleared) matter more than people making reports in offices.

Too bad the politicians who defend the tent camps that cause businesses to close rarely go to see the conditions ... watching for days to see it really is all day ... and would invoke all government power they have to avoid living in or having their offices in those zones.
