So much of the pain is old age or hereditary, but in my case, I was not kind to my body and that caused the other two causes to be amplified. Exercise and stretching is the best thing we can do for our bodies.

I stopped carrying my wallet in the back pocket about a decade ago. Made a huge difference.

Good morning. Started to rain last night and will continue through Sunday. This past week the wife and I worked hard to repair the damage to the lawn when we had the two trees removed back in August. Three truckloads of a topsoil/compost mix and the holes and ruts are filled in, seed planted, and a pellet started fertilizer applied. I am tired but not sore or any unusual pains. Today just might be a movie kind of day.
Quick Vid and a couple of pics.

Finally got "done" dressing up the '78 Chevy frame yesterday and it's inside the shop again last night. Now I have to decide whether I want to cut and splice the frame to go from 131.5 inch wheelbase to 112 inches... or build the bed longer. Shortening the frame might change the angle of the driveshaft enough to be a problem, and building the bed longer makes the truck look odd.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Clean the truck off for the COTA show tomorrow, and watch some football. That's it. Hard stuff can wait until this 100 stuff stops - it's fall now!

Nice work @Travlr - POR on the frame, or just painted?

My wheelbarrow of top soil went into the depression that's started from the gas work and tree removal are @95SLE - lot's less than yours!

Paint... Grind off the rust, sand blast, and I've been using a cheap paint made by Rustoleum for years that works as well as the name brand.

    Single piece drive shaft?
About how long will the shaft be after you cut it?

Good Morning Everyone! have a great day!

I haven't carried my wallet in my back pocket for over 20 years, by suggestion of my chiropractor. The ex coworker has only 1 finger joint that has the problem he takes several medications to control it. He's had such joint pain in back and legs. I don't think he's been to a university clinic. I will mention it to him. Great pic of some of the guys on here.

Yup, single piece. Original shaft is 57.5"... so if I cut out 19.5 it would end up 38" u-joint to u-joint.

The present center of the shaft is 22.5 from the ground in front and 14.5 in the rear.

I think you might be able to do it. You may have to shim the rear axle to get your joints in angle. But, having a bed that long and with all that work do you want to make it look like it supposed to

Shim the rear axle... to get the front a little higher so the angle is less severe?

Do you think 2 degrees would be enough? 4 degrees?

    Afternoon all:

    DMSO (di menthol sulfoxide) ?
I remember seeing that on the news also, it was supposed to be a "miracle cure" for arthritis even though it was actually a cleaning agent, like you said, you don't hear anything about it anymore.

Looks like we're in for a few days of steady rain here, so far it's just a light rain that's coming down.

2 would be fine, or no more than 3°. But, more than .5°

As long as they are as even as poss.

I bought a box of those CeraKote Black wipes a while back. REALLY QUICK after the car wash, I tried it on the mirror and mounting. It wants shade and cool, which I did not have, but curiosity was killing me! Let's see how it lasts. I'm sure I can do it better next time.

    20230923_115327.jpg

Supposed to last 200 washes, which Back to Black and similar won't do. Didn't quite get the pics right, but close enough.

    By the way, HOOK 'EM!
