Dealer keeps calling

So I got like 4 calls this week from different people at the dealership
asking if I wanted to come in and sell my 2021 and upgrade to a 2023.

I advised I was happy with my 2021 and really didn't see why I would do that
and they keep telling me that my payments would probably be the same or
cheaper given current interest rates. I told the guy I was at 1.9% and that was
too high given my credit score of 865, and I only owed like $6,200 on it.

He insisted I come in and talk to them so I asked what would they offer. Unable
to give me a direct answer I gave him my terms:

Since I paid full price for the vehicle I told them I would set my own price and
sell it back them at a new full price of $175,000 in cash, small bills. The phone
went silent so I spoke up and said since I paid full asking price then if you want
to do the same let me know.

After a pause I said if you aren't interested in paying me my sticker price then
stop calling me.

We'll see.

 

Should have asked them to also fill out a credit application

Why answer? I don't even give them my real number. Why do they need to call me? I will call them if I need them.

When a dealer talks about lower monthly payments, must be pushing a 108 month loan.

 

I tell them to just stop calling me and they do.

 

I would tell him to bring. 24 taco on the table . Then we can talk .

 

Getting towards the end of the month and the pressure is on the salesmen to make their numbers. Don’t hit the number, no bonus. Next week they’ll be even more desperate especially if one of them is really close to their target. I’ve seen dealerships cut salesmen’s hours so they will miss out on a bonus. It’s a dog eat dog business.

 

Most of us get how dumb of an idea this is.... BUT, to the salesman's credit, he planted a seed... and here we are. Not every seed grows, but if 1 out of 50 does, then it was worthwhile for them.

 

All my seeds grew. I have two children.

haha, I kept getting texts offering to buy my house, I kept responding with a ridiculous price and "no inspections".
Not sure why, just made me giggle.
regarding the OP's situation; When they start talking payments,,, you know they're getting their tube O lube out.

 

We get at least 3 a week for our rental in the mail. Some with a price stated. Maybe I should call and ask for more.......

 

I mean, we didn't try to sell them anything, they reached out to us, so we might as well set the price of what it takes.

 

for a while i was getting constant text messages for "selling my house". i was bored one night and said i was interested. they started calling, all excited they 'got a live one'.

we get to talking, they say "i understand you're interested in selling your house"

"absolutely. as they say, everything is for sale for the right price."

"what were you looking to get in terms of price?"

"1.2 million."

"um, how do you justify that price when houses in your area average $250,000?"

"easy. I AM the market. if you want the house, that's the price for the hassle of me having to move out, locate a new house, and move my life around to accommodate you."

"so you're not interested in selling your house at this time"

"no, i will absolutely sell it for 1.2 million. i don't understand why you want the house so bad, but as long as the check clears, i really don't care what you do with it once everything is signed over."

they didn't care for that so much. they bothered me a few more times after that, the next time the guy audibly sighed when i gave the house price.

 

I do the same thing - bstards keep calling.
