My service center and dealership was always nice to go to, the salespeople never followed me through the parking lot when I was going to parts or service desk, nor back to my car. Now they do- something changed and I am really not liking their sales tactics anymore. I try to hide from them and actually started to break out running into the center when they call me from their little lair in the sales loit.

Exactly..if it's slow at the location, bird dogging (as I've heard it referred to also) is a way to maybe get someone to the showroom..plus it shows the employee doing something.

Yep, that threw me too. Never made it past 845 only dept is house with like 2 years left to pay off. And my dealer only sends me nice little notes telling me that they are willing to pay up to trade in value for a junker.

Dropped into the dealership to pick up some gaskets for my 90K fluid changes. Normally I try to park in the service lot to avoid the sales people, but there weren’t any spots. Parked out front as close to the service entrance as I could. The minute I got out and shut my door there was a lady in a pantsuit hightailing it in my direction. Practically yelling to get my attention. I pretended she didn’t exist and beelined straight for the service door, but she kept following and yelling after me, “Sir!!! SIR!!!” Nearly followed me in.

Next time I’ll order the parts online.

If you get the 2023 at least you can say you have the last of the v6 tacomas to ever be built. How many allocations are left really? 4 I would I assume and at that point by December I think the 4th gens will be rolling out.

i never got a call from a dealer and it's been a year and half since i purchased the truck. heck, i had an issue with my first 'free' service and made multiple attempts to get them to call or email me. nothing.........

i wish i did get a call and offer to buy, i would consider selling for a fair price.

they may be more likely to call someone if they have a history of trading, selling, and purchasing new vehicles every few years. that's not me.

I went up to the dealer I bought my 15 from to get some filters and new inserts, I wasn't even in the system anymore as far as a customer or even buying it from there. Guess they don't make any money off me.

Most dealers are under tremendous pressure trying to keep the lights on. I've been doing business with the same dealership for over 20 years.

Over the past two years the service department has been trying to upsell me every time I go in. On one occasion they charged me an hour's labor to replace front skid shield bolts that they sheared off doing an oil change. That got corrected after I called the service director and discussed it with him. I got a refund and he said "That is not the way we make money here."

I've had good experiences with this shop buying vehicles and getting service. They've comped me several times for items they could legitimately charge me for. Another data point is their top two service writers have left over the he past year. Not that I expect other stores are doing much better.
