Ha zip ties seem to not brace strong enough and shakes while driving at speed unfortunately, otherwise i would leave it

might be a good option for me as well, then i can modify it for trimmed fenders without the brackets disintegrating

2.5" OME lift, Fox 2.5 coil overs, all pro expo leafs, ubolt flip kit w/ upgraded bump stops, 1.25" wheel spacers, 16" Bronze KMC Impact OL wheels, 295/75/r16 Nitto grapplers, beige Softopper, Brute force front bumper w/smittybilt winch, RCI rear bumper, caliraised rock sliders, TRD IFS skid plate custom swingout tailgate w/spare tire mount, TC bed stiffeners, Magnum force CAI, KC spotlights, tacomabeast headlights, rear seat molle panel odds and ends, hi lift, MESO interior lights, and a fuck load of patches… more planned for later.
Finally took care of a few things. Got a third brake light for the Softopper and a gorilla whip flag pole cuz why not.

Definitely winced a little punching the holes for the grommets but they turned out solid.
    IMG_9683.jpg

The light bar had a solid group of wires sticking straight out the back which gave it a little space from the canvas so the hardware I got to mount it included some spacers which ended up with the light bar about 1/4” off the canvas but it mounted up really nicely through the grommets
    IMG_9684.jpg
    IMG_9687.jpg

Shoutout to @Puppypunter for taking time out of his day and answering a few questions regarding the wiring. Got an extended 2pin connector to splice the light bar into to run to the plug coming from the taillight. I cleaned it up before it was zip tied to the frame of the Softopper
    IMG_9685.jpg
    IMG_9686.jpg

Very happy with the final result and finally getting a third brake light for the topper.
    IMG_9692.jpg

Also knocked up a quick mounting bracket for the whip that I attached to the bottom bolt of the swing gate (not it’s final form)
    IMG_9691.jpg

last but not least thanks to @fatfurious2 for the replacement cup holder, can finally put my canteen in there again

Swapped out the Rack and pinion….6 hours later:bananadead:. Definitely not a fun task but I was able to shimmy it out without having to cut the driver’s side bolt. The hardest part was tightening up the pressurized line with how little space there is. Those half-quarter turns alone took me an hour. I’ll drive it tomorrow after adjusting the toe. Bravo for tackling that task. Everything I’ve read says that it’s not easy.

i will need to do this in the near future.

What rack did you go with?

Went for a 300-mile drive and remembered that whenever I'm on the road for an extended amount of time, the little door always come out. Thoughts and possible solutions? I don't want it getting out and bouncing out of the bed one day.
