It isn’t the driest thing in the world, but it’s secure and works great for our needs. 2B1BCABD-89B0-471B-BFE8-719D2972B9B7.jpg

If its in nice shape and a good price I suggest you get it and maybe get a windoor for the other side later on

Leer 100XR. Love it, but the first time trying the slider on the windoor and the latch rivet popped out. Haven't tried the other side. Also, the dome light only works when the truck's lights are on.

I got the Softtopper because of the price point and quickness of availability. And honestly I'm loving the versatility of it. Still keeps the weather off of gear and while sleeping. Its super easy to remove and have the bed of the pickup available for bigger things.

Lakeland M900. Just a basic inexpensive cap, but we like the concept so much, we are debating selling our E250 van and using the $ for something like the Canopy Camper.

Traded my cab-hi snugtop for a ARE MX with windoors, best decision ever. Won’t use a topper without windoors ever again… actually makes the topper useful when outside. No more crawling just to grab a pair of boots!

Mine are definitely L/R side specific... unless you don't mind the windoors opening inwards

After looking around FB, CL and Offer up for about a year, I finally found my shell. GFC Topper from CL. Got a solid deal on it and install was easy between me and the guy I bought it from (it only weighs 135lbs). I need to shift it over on the bed about a 1/2 inch (OCD), but I'm super happy with it. I was looking for a utility shell with doors or an alucab shell as well, but I couldn't pass up the GFC. I'll probably add some bars on top and lights inside, but I'm also thinking a 1/2 sleeping platform for beach days (I love the short bed, but I do get long bed envy when I see people sleeping back there).

Why? Are high rise better for any specific reason?

I got the high rise for the extra headroom
I sleep in the back, sometimes on a platform and I can sit upright.. just barely but enough to put on a shirt
My awning is at a nice height but there is a gab by the cab

It’s all preference. I would’ve like the extra head room and when I pack it up for road trips I feel like it would’ve been nice to just have the extra vertical space so I can pack more lol.

My kids would’ve probably liked it too. They like to hang out in the camper and chill when we go out on small nature day trips .

Mine is but an older model with just sliding windows. At 6.0’ I can be nearly vertical on my knees fetching something from the front. It fits larger items also. Moved a top loader washer and dryer. Brought a new couch home back there still in the box. Those extra 3-4” makes a lot a difference. We all could use a few more inches.

Side note: I do have a forked limb maybe 4.5-5’ long. Can use it as a shooting prop (original idea) and can also maneuver totes at the front. I cut a knotch in the end of one of the forks and can pull a tote out with it as well. Has a little bend in it and it lays across the wheel well fender. I’ll get a pic if I remember in the morning.
