Agree LCE header was a nice upgrade going to install this manifold spacer in the next week not expecting much but if it’s a little happier 3k and under which is where I mostly stay it will be a worth while upgrade. OTT tune is a major upgrade I prefer it over KD max especially around town. I can input a lot more throttle before a downshift vs KD max. You can load up the motor more with it staying in gear vs kd which is a plus. It also feels smoother throughout the rev range I am assuming that’s because @JustDSM got a 2.7 on the dyno and did some tweaks. I like medium/spicy ect setting, you have a blower on your 2TR? What brand? A blower or turbo would be nice but I got this truck for reliability not speed.

i dont have a blower on mine but i have just finished reading all 70 pages on the 2.7 performence thread and that has really shown what it can do. from my understanding blowers can be realiable just as much as our engine if done right and maintained like anything else, but yeah more parts = more things to break at the end of the day. i do plan on getting a blower in the future fingers crossed.

If someone made a quality roots blower kit for the 2TR i would likely jump on it, i could be out dated i remember seeing talks on a magnuson kit but nothing came about it. If you go blower route make sure to post the process, unless someone comes out with a quality kit i will likely re gear to 5.29's and if i keep the truck long enough when it gets tired a 6.2 LS with a 6L80E would be nice. I have built a few vehicles with junkyard 5.3's with a cheap turbo setup, reliability, bang for the buck, aftermarket support, and size the LS is hard to beat surprised i don't see many LS swaps. Maybe its because these Toyota motors just keep on ticking.

Thanks to David at Timber Ridge Tuning here in Omaha for the OTT tune he gave me yesterday on my 5.29 equipped DCLB!

Truck drives and shifts like a different vehicle.....

Random question but I believe I have an exhaust leak and did a log yesterday but the O2 readings don't seem to be available. Is there any way to see or infer these from another variable?

My wideband is bouncing a ton but I was hoping to isolate if it's pre or post header and which side if possible.

Your MPVI2 will log all the O2 variables the ECU has. Depending on the size of the leak, you may not necessarily be able to deduce where the leak is or what bank it's on. You can more easily deduce that with some soapy water on cool engine/exhaust.

Depending on the age and how you've powered your sensor, it's possible it's just in need of replacement. Most aftermarket widebands do not last nearly as long as a OEM sensor application.

I recently replaced it the wideband. Just have to figure out how to find the header O2 readings and graph them I guess cause it displayed them with no values.

Dropping in here quickly to say that the OTT was the best thing I did to my truck. it made it come alive after bigger tires and about 1000 lbs over stock.

Had it done by a guy that goes by Wicked Matt in RI. He was super knowledgeable, runs a really awesome shop, and was extremely helpful and responsive. great representation of the OTT brand.

Tailor is also top notch when it comes to the product, answering questions, and overall customer service!!!

    Awesome stuff!!

    thanks!!

Always!! Let me know if you need further assistance. Feel free to PM me if you need.

Matt is a damn good dude and we're very happy to have him as part of our team. I'm very glad to hear he was able to take care of you and get your truck dialed in for you.

    Much thanks!

Who else loves octane? Hey look, my account is now 60 days old and I can finally post in this section… lol

Love my OTT tune and I’m running 95.5 octane! Truck thrives on it. E20 - 25. No problems with the fuel pump 3.5 e85 and the rest 93. It definitely feels better vs 93 alone and timing stays higher. I know, I’m not supposed to but I can tell she is doing good…

So read through this whole thread and have an appointment setup in a couple weeks and have a few questions. You guys in the winter states run the lite/mild or mild/medium? Don’t want it to be jumpy but also read where some of you had it jumpy in lite/mild and had to get reflashed. Hopefully I don’t get that problem as the tuner for me is 3hrs one way. Last question after I get the tune done in a few weeks and later on down the road needed to change or have issues would I be able to purchase the VFTuner and do this myself with a locked vin tune from ya guys?

The throttle response will come down to your personal preference - what others like doesn't necessarily mean it fits your setup or driving style.
I like the lite/mild throttle for driving in snow and on ice. It has enough punch to get you going but still very controllable. Best is to try out multiple throttle setting on your truck when you get tune.

In regards to changing things down the road: Your tuner and any other tuner in the network would be able to do that for you in person. @JustDSM can chime in for the option of getting vin locked files.

I live in Mass and we get snow and wet - I am medium and spicy - it's no problem.

you get used to the pedal and response and for different situations - pretty sure if you pressed on the pedal in a corvette, it's gonna be jumpy, but at the same time it can be eased into a parking spot or parallel parked. just the driver getting used to it. IMHO

also depends on your build - i am on 285s and about 1000 lbs over stock with bumpers, sliders, skids, etc. without all the weight, i may have gone mild / medium

If winter driving is a concern, I'd recommend staying on the lighter side of our throttle offerings. Depending on the weight of your truck (as @Dtax mentioned) you may be able to get away with something a little more aggressive. I would however personally suggest Lite-Mild or Mild-Med

Should you get tuned by one of our retailers, and later get VFTuner for yourself, coordinate with your tuner to contact us and we can supply you with the vin-locked suite of files for your application at no cost.

We get a ton of wintery weather here in NE, but just had the truck set up with mild/med to suit our towing needs, so have not had a chance to try anything in winter weather yet.
If you don't tow anything, go with lite/mild
I can tell you that for me throttle response is the largest immediately felt difference, with the shift points and how the trans reacts to hills and such a close second.

Appreciate the responses guys! Ya my truck is all stock except for going up to a 265/70r17 tire and some other add ons that don’t add any weight. Won’t be towing anything besides the occasional dirt bike which isnt much at all. Brian I’m down here in KS so we get a bit in the winter. Actually going to see the same tuner you used.

I'm intrigued by the OTT and considering giving it a try. I'm currently on KDMax 10.0 and did a remote install myself so I have the VF Tuner cable. I just sent them a message through the OTT website.

Does OTT have a way to lock the TC in 3rd gear? I tow a 4000lb travel trailer and it would be awesome to be able to do this since I've often in 3rd gear when pulling up a long mountain. I've seen my trans temps up to 220 and 230 a few times and locking the TC in 3rd would help with this.
