All Things Bikes and Tacos! (...and every vehicle imaginable)

I've been heavily considering a Druid v2 or a Highlander V2 for my next trail bike. Can only split hairs between them. Figure I'll just sit on my hands until a deal comes up that I can't pass by.

 

Made it out to Mammoth last week. A lot of trails were closed due to construction on a new chairlift, but I still had a blast. The first run I did was about 8.5 miles from top to bottom. Looks like they already closed the bike park for the season. I'm hoping I can get a session in Tahoe before they close up too.

 

We do have the e-Cargo bike that I commute on when I take the kids.

I do the same for my team. I allow my whole team do be remote cause they're doing analysis and have no need to talk to anyone most of the time. I'm in the office everyday to have facetime with the other departments we support, also because I have a nice office and I like being here. Most of my company needs to be on-site though cause it's clinical lab testing and you can't really do that remotely.

Why tech and finance industries are calling everyone back in, I have no idea though. There are definitely issues with some IT groups I work with that have poor management, but that's a reason to change your manager not a reason to change your WFH policy. It seems like, as someone else said, the company probably pays a ton to lease the office building a refuses to move on OR the managers have their heads in the sand and can't accept that people are productive from home.

nice! the e-bikes for commuting are perfect use cases. I love them for that for sure!

Yeah, i'm at a tech company and my ceo was of the impression that nobody was productive from home. then the shutdowns happened and he very quickly learned his lesson and changed his tune. now it's mostly WFH for us. all the engineers are WFH/remote but some of the other depts are in and out of the office weekly.

 

what company if you dont mind me asking. im always curious what engineering is 100% wfh. im a test engineer and have a lot of equipment i need hands on with. things are slowing down and i might get a day or two wfh, but its pretty rare.

Yeah, I'm in industrial manufacturing, so I'm the face of the department, but try and shield my reports from the in-office BS when possible. Plus like you said, I have a baller office and live 8 minutes from home so I don't mind. I felt like I was under house arrest when I was 100% WFH but it was also hard because I knew it was a temporary arrangement.

I do miss the fact that I could send out my morning productivity email/deliverables blast then bang out a lap in Corner Canyon and come back about the time the replies started coming in.

I also miss having a network like CC 6 mins from my driveway. Closest good place around is now 30ish mins away.

 

I do BST laps at slow times during the work day all the time! Not as good as corner canyon on average, but you wont find me complaining about a Bobsled lap during my lunch break.

I think I'm done with the Continentals. I've gotten about 5 or 6 rides on them now and I still don't feel confident on them. I've crashed once and washed out on almost every ride since I got em. I'm going back to maxxis.

If anyone wants a like new set of kryptotal front and rear, let me know.

 

All my homies hate Continentals. I would however encourage you to give Vittoria a try next time you feel like branching out.
