    Greetings once again.
The dealer I am potentially buying from (I only have a refundable deposit for now) has my 23 TRD OR marked up 10%. I talked him down quite a bit but the price we agreed to is still around 5-7% above MSRP. Is this normal for new Tacomas?

My potential truck is a TRD OR DCSB with the 6 speed manual. MSRP is $40kish, Dealer’s selling price is $44700ish marked up before I talked him down. I’d still be paying above MSRP for this truck. And all this after downsizing from a full size truck to a smaller truck with less power and similar MPG. The only reason I’m potentially doing it is to be able to drive a 6 speed manual plus to downsize (no longer need all the space of a full size truck.)

Opinions.. Is this a decent deal? Are folks really paying crazy mark ups on Tacoma’s?

    Post the window sticker.
Most people here are fly and drive people for the right truck. Depending where you live there are dealers in Oregon/Illinois/Maryland all marking down from MSRP. They may have mandatory adds but you have to call. I got my truck for just under $3,000 off MSRP. Only had $324 dealer handling. It had port installed options but I liked most of them (no Toyoguard bullshit though).
Post what you’re looking for beyond MT and we can help you search and save thousands. Plus driving back is fun! I made a trip out of it and brought my dad, he enjoyed it.

My 2 local dealers are still adding markups to Tacomas. Typically I'm seeing a 2,999 markup with negotiating room. I caved a couple weeks ago and settled for 500 over MSRP for an 4 cyl SR. They got an earful of their bullshit though.

Right now I would be settling for $3500 over MSRP. The problem is that there are VERY few 6spd manuals in the entire nation so they are all marking them up.

Yea the "unicorns" are being being marked up more. Just depends on if you're willing to pay it. Convenience vs. traveling to find another. My pro was marked up 7500. I got them down quite a bit, I'd have to look at my paperwork and see.

Yep, you all are right. A quick nationwide search has revealed plenty that are at MSRP plus even a couple that are at $2k below! One of which is only a 6hr drive away.

I ordered my truck from 2 states away. I'm getting exactly what I wanted and the dealer knows how hard I worked to get it and they are only charging MSRP. They have other Tacomas, I just wanted a very specific one.

What state are you in OP?

Financing ? 6 speed maybe worth it but not that much over MSRP. Maybe for a Pro..maybe. Neighbor got his 23 off-road for under MSRP, but no financing.

I purchased mine in Tacoma, WA, about a month ago. TRD OR, 2023 with 6 foot bed. They asked $3500 over, I countered with MSRP and they accepted. Addons were minimal OEM, with none of the pure profit items like undercoating. They didn't flinch much at MSRP so I might have done better but I doubt it. I figure the demand is probably still pretty high with people like me who want to get the last of the V6 models. I'm happy with the truck.

Good work! I am back at it looking at a new Tacoma now. They are selling it at MSRP. It’s a 23 6 speed manual. Think I’m gonna go for it. MSRP is $42.8k on this one.. good deal? Gray TRD Sport with 6 speed manual, TRD performance package, Tech package, Predator side steps and chrome exhaust.
