CeraKote wipes are on of the only automotive detailing products I've used that actually live up to the manufactures claims. I did the black trim on my '04 two years ago and they still look good.

Rob: Nice to see you posting in the thread again.

Good morning. Rain off and on all day yesterday with more of the same today. We cleaned out a lot of old books, CD's and DVD's upstairs yesterday. We can now remove one of the bookcases. Son needs more space in the one room. Going to start on a gas grill refurbish today in the garage. Another rainy Sunday with the kind of rain that will soak into the ground and not have a lot of runoff.

The way my foot doctor explained arthurites to me is, he could go in and scrape the calcification away from the bone, but it will just come back. Basically, there is no cure, and it is associated with getting older. Some of us have it worse than others.

    Enjoy your Sunday.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/ @MQQSE hunters. We're on day 2 of being soaked by Ophelia, or what's left of her anyway; the National Hurricane Center has stopped fretting over her, which is a good thing. But the remnants are moving very, very slowly, dumping rain and occasionally gusting up some wind. Power's been out 4 times so far, came back quickly on its own twice, the other two times we went on generator. It's on right now in fact. Thankfully the rainfall total has been less than expected, but the yard is a mess.

Good Afternoon Cool Old Dudes & Susan,
Went to Mass with Chief this morning. I like the Catholic format and enjoyed it very much. :)
    Thank you Tom. :fistbump:
My run in with the moose 17 yrs ago resulted in early onset of our friend "Art" in my neck. It acts up every so often; so far Motrin does the job when flares up.

Dave, saw the track inland over you on the news this morning; hopefully you come thru with nothing more than a clean-up.

Good morning old folks, I hope you are enjoying the fall weather in between storms. It’s my favorite time of year. I
Spent the last few days in Montana fishing. The water is running high on the Madison and the fishing was a little slower than years past. Did manage to catch about a dozen browns and bows. Here’s one. Have a good remaining weekend. upload_2023-9-24_10-6-47.jpg

Beautiful brown! Use to backpack/trout fish the Montana Bear Tooth wilderness and also would go over to one of Montana’s premier trout streams afterwards. The Madison was a favorite, always produced plenty of good sized trout. Tight lines Bryan.

The issue with my,back is deterioration of the lower spine L5 and L4 being the worse, a couple of slightly herniated discs and of course shortening of my height. I used to be 5'11" but now according to the doctors scale I am 5' 9 1/2" tall . The shot I got is doing good with only, minor twinge now and again except for the humid days .

So with that, have a good day all.

Safely back from our weekend in Flatwoods, WV for a FJR forum meet up. We managed to gather more than 75 of us from all over from as far away as CA, AZ, ND, and some Canadian provinces. toured the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV on Friday and they even left all of us back out. Wrapped up my participation in the mural event I started back in January. Just submitted my last batch of phots for scoring. Here are a few highlights:

The asylum is the second largest natural sandstone building in the world. The largest is the Kremlin in Moscow! Some of what was done here in the name of treating mental health issues was nothing short of torture. This is where the prefrontal lobotomy was "perfected" if you want to call it that.

The first 9 patients admitted were all women and the trend continued for decades. Any man could pretty much drop off his wife with complaints as vague as "female issues" or even "bad cooking" and she could be committed. Compounding just how ridiculous this was the only person who could decide the asylum had cured her was her husband who had ordered her committed. If by any chance the man passed away during her confinement she could be there for life.

Hearse mania was on the property this weekend as well.

Saturday it was threatening rain so Dianne chose to stay at the hotel and I went off on my own to find more murals.

We did have one rider learn a harsh lesson about wet roads and riding above your skill level. Fortunately he was unhurt beyond a a sore right shoulder and a bruised right arm. His FJR did not fare so well.

That bottom bolt that's no longer attached belongs in a hole in the engine case that no longer exists. Windscreen is missing, front fairing stay is broken, right saddlebag is in pieces, and those are just what we saw immediately.

:pccoffee: Good Afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Home from COTA and napped up! Hopefully, our last 102* for the year (right now), as there are supposed to be storms and rain this evening and Monday! Please! Good show this morning, including boats and planes! I didn't get the big boat, because the guy was still unwrapping it - I should have. Two stories tall! Two posts of pics, so off we go!

WOW! Chuck! How do you find so many murals!?!? And the pics are great.
Not sure I would have enjoyed the Asylum so much!
And I hope your friend suffers no worse than some black and blue!

You'd be surprised what a little time on Google can reveal. I'm on a computer all day at work with liberal free time. I would simply Google "town name/state" murals and go from there. Lots of smaller towns are doing what they can to draw tourism and to rejuvenate their downtown areas. Murals and other public art installations are a draw.
Will post links tomorrow to my 3 Smugmug galleries for the over 1k murals I visited in the past 9 months.

Some great shots of murals. There are some amazing artists out there.

Hope your friend is ok. Sounds like he needs "crash bars" to protect his motor. Wouldn't have done anything for the wind shield, but would have protected his motor (if they still make them :notsure:)

Good Morning Everyone, have a great day! Got some rain over the weekend, much needed.

It's always good to see some of the pictures of cars, fish and things we find on our travels, Especially when it is not something in respected regions. I've been to different locations every place has something unique if you look for it. When I was working the last 9 years I was on the road through most of this state and part of Minnesota. I could always find things hadn't seen before or noticed. When @BkerChuck said town's look for things to attract tourists. Many places have done so with art or events or food.
