About a week ago my check engine light came on. The truck gets to about 1000 rpm’s at first but warms up a bit and will get to about 3000 in its gear and just lose power and have trouble accelerating. You can also smell a slight gassy smell. the code reader at first read p0135 and p0125, so we replaced the o2 sensor and coolant temp switch. The light never went off but now the ob2 reader just reads a code for not being able to connect. we also tried replacing the fuel filter and checked spark plugs and wires with no luck. i have no clue what it could be help
I uploaded a video of it on youtube here

Did you clear the old codes after the first work was done?

So the scan tool can not connect to the ECM to read codes?

If you unhook the battery it'll clear the codes for you :)

In the engine compartment locate the fuse box and find the OBD fuse and replace it with the same amperage. I have seen cracked fuses do the same thing. You could waste a-lot of time looking for an intermittent.

There are what are called hard codes and soft codes, hard codes require that you manually clear them, soft codes will self clear.

Look at the wiring diagram and see what fuses are used and check them first.
