I'm in south central BC, black widows are dime a dozen around home. I did have a juvenile rattler (8" long) at my basement door one day and the pond next to us is one of the prime habitats for an endangered salamander species. When they migrate between the mud around the pond to the nearby fields I can end up with a mass of 50-60 at my basement door. Goes with the deer, quail, pheasants living around here, bears at this time of the year in my neighbor's hazelnut trees and the occasional bobcat.

    j/k :D
Thanks man I really them to and they are GoRhinos. Really solid and you can remove the traction plate off the top so it will just be the tubes. I wanted and needed something to get me in and out easier but I didn’t want it to sit to low for clearance reasons and looks preference wise. I think these are a good balance of both being practical and useful in many ways .

Awesome but now I feel cheated
No that’s cool man but I actually like mine incase I forget. If it chimes when you have your door open and ignition is in accessory you can push the little rubber switch in the door frame and release then it will stop to  while your sitting at least and not in motion you don’t have to hear the chiming.

I disabled the chime myself, cost me $6.00. :D

    20230924_180942.jpg

It's used to secure doggos but it also doubles as a keychain/lanyard occasionally.

Edit: before I get flamed, it's used 99% of the time on my passenger seat since that's where my small travel cooler sits...and it's just too heavy. I've used it a few times on my seat on forest roads and trails at low speeds when I've had to get out every few minutes to move brush or whatnot. I'm not looking for a Darwin award nomination ya'lls. :anonymous:

The paint should hold up. But, I won't complain if it doesn't as drums are consumable parts and will eventually be replaced. I did four coats, a light tack coat, a second light tack coat, and two heavier coats. Waited about 15 minutes between each tack coat and 30 minutes between each heavy coat. I also taped off the mating surface of the drum as I coat this area with anti-seize and it's hidden by the wheel. The paint doesn't offer anything except beauty and the rust on the drum is just surface rust. Really, I did this just because I could. I already had the wheels off for the undercoating process and I needed to check the rear brakes as the 30k service interval calls for a visual inspection. If you're going to do this, I recommend getting a wire brush attached to a drill to knock off large rust flakes, dirt, etc.; a can of Brakleen; one can of matte black caliper paint, some painters tape, and a sharp knife. Knock off all of the loose stuff with the brush, clean the rotor face with the Brakleen, tape off the mating surface, and go to town with the paint.

I appreciate the commentary about keeping things clean and new-looking. When I buy something, I try to keep it in good condition. With winter coming, I don't want to be sifting through piles of parts, junk, etc. in the freezing weather. Additionally, CDOT applies Magnesium Chloride as a liquid to the roads which has been known to cause serious corrosion [1] [2] hence the desire to undercoat the truck. I'm not sure how the Cosmoline will hold up to a high-pressure undercarriage wash such as those found in touchless car washes, but I might find out come the first snow storm. Or, I might get an undercarriage washer such as this one from Adam's.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

Out of curiosity… which exact ones are those. I like them too. I want something that doesn’t have to be a focal point and had a look at their site and wasn’t sure which you had compared to the others.
