Installed some TST axle sliders on the Grom. I think I’m done with bike protection for now.

I hate moving. Really cutting into my riding time.

Pic of the last of my belongings at my old place before I rode it out and shut the garage for the last time.

    IMG_9079.jpg

And here is the mess I still have to organize and deal with over the next few weekends:

    IMG_9077.jpg

Managed to get all 4 bikes in tonight though!
Heading out of town tomorrow for my nieces 16th birthday part in western WA and picking up an Aracer mini x standalone ECU for the Grom from oldtoyman (rip on his ban lol) on the way there. Woo!

I hate moving so much that when I do it, I throw most stuff away. I'm not terribly sentimental, and I accumulate way to much crap. Did you use this move as an opportunity to cleanse the clutter?

Shit. Had to come back down to ATL to take care of some biz. This place blows…people and temps.

In the first 15mins of being here I saw a charger rip and slam into an ambulance. I wonder if anyone was in the back, the lights were on.

I remember why I stopped riding here all together.

Looks like you're getting a lot more garage space, though!

Would gladly tackle the organization in return for double the garage space! I have been shuffling around a single car garage for almost 3 decades now. Congrats!

    Rainy weekend here…

I got the bags on they fit nicely. The mounting system is pretty slick, quick disconnect and hardware isn’t too noticeable when they’re off the bike. 18L each side decent capacity

Got in a nice ride with @Toyotacrawler and his wife. Really made me miss my sport bike.

Ole girl did better in the twidties than I expected. It wasn't too horribly bad trying to keep them in my sight

Promised my wife I’m off motorcycles so my two-wheel fun is relegated to mountain bikes. But, I do miss riding and wrenching on motorcycles. Here are some of my bikes over the years.

Just got home about 90 minutes ago from Flatwoods, WV and our FJR Forum Eastern Owner's Meet. 75 people at the banquet and almost 75 bikes. Great riding and a fantastic time hanging with friends from other states and Canadian Provinces. A few pics, of course some murals....

We rode up to Weston, WV on Friday morning to tour the Tran Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. Surprisingly they left all of us out.

When open this place was built to house and treat 250 patients with mental health issues. When it was closed that number exceeded 2500 patients. It's the second largest natural sandstone building in the world. The only one bigger........The Kremlin in Moscow!
Some of the treatments here were bordering on torture yet at one time they were believed to help with mental illness. A woman could be committed here simply on the word of her husband if we wanted to be rid of her and it was far cheaper than a divorce. Once committed the only person who could decide she was cured was the person committing her! She could be committed for offenses as simple as "female troubles", a catch all excuse.

The first 9 patients admitted were all women. If the man committing her were to die or be killed while the woman was institutionalized she would be there for the rest of her natural life.

It was also the weekend of Hearse Mania. Owners of hearses and vintage ambulances were showing their rides all weekend.

We did have one rider take an off road excursion that didn't end well. Thankfully he was unhurt and another FJR owner who had trailered took him to the nearest U-haul for a truck to get him and his bike home to GA where hopefully it can be repaired.

Sadly that engine case is broken. He ran wide in a turn and tried to straighten up but hit wet grass and the bike just went right out from under him. Right side saddlebag hit a telephone pole after he was thrown off then the windscreen went flying. There is a reason Yamaha uses nylon hardware on the windscreens. I'm trying to get a copy of the video form the rider who was behind him. I saw it and it was brutal. He walked away which is a testament to quality gear.

I feel ya. Wife & I moved from our home of 20years in Baltimore to our cabin in WV. I was fortunate that a buddy of mine that owns a roll off dumpster business bought our house. He told us anything we didn't want I could leave it. Of course with my luck I was dealing with sciatic back pain so bad surgery was scheduled a week after settlement. Bad back and all we moved what we wanted from the house and my 2 garages. I also had to disassemble my 18x41 carport, thank God for family & friends. You truly don't realize how much stuff you own until you have to move it all. Because we moved to our cabin with no garage (yet) and its far from the nearest blacktop road I had to sell my classic cars. After it was all over and we were settled into our cabin it felt great to downsize. And now that we're living totally debt/mortgage free in seclusion far from crazy Baltimore that feels even better.

Road over Pennock pass again, but in the opposite direction and I had a destination in mind today.

    Top of the pass

Coming down the other side into Pingree Park. The road in the background is where I'll be eventually and it leads to the CSU Mountain Campus.

The low spot in the mountains is Pennock Pass.

Quick picture and then off to find a place for lunch.

Nice little campsite I found a couple years ago. Road to access is steep, rocky and washed out pretty good. The flat pegs were WAY better than the stock rubber ones. Money well spent there. This was my destination. :D

Made my way down to the Poudre Canyon, stopped to air back up and the compressor didn't want to work. Of course I left the hand pump at home today for the first time. Rode it back 30 miles on twisty canyon road with 22/18 psi and it did just fine.

Looks like a chunk of you got out on a beautiful Sunday ride!

    As did I.

A spirited 100 miles (filled up and treated tank with some redline SI-1 fuel injector cleaner... which means you gotta go WOT at least a dozen + times :D) with a good chunk of my favorite canyons around the Malibu area - Rode down PCH from the ventura area to Malibu then up to the top of Stunt RD via las Flores - down Tuna canyon then back north on the PCH to Latigo, then over to mullholland to decker canyon to westlake the north on the 101 home. (Good lord that sounded like an SNL "Californians" skit)

Tuna Canyon is a neat one, one way, one lane, super steep downhill, crazy twisty, not much margin for error road. Latigo is IMO one of the most underrated canyon roads in the malibu hills. Super fun, tight to big sweepers without much traffic at all.

Gotta keep your head on straight along the PCH from Zuma through Malibu. 1. traffic, but 2..... sheeeeesh some of the walking scenery will break your neck!

It always amazes me how freaking well the big ass heavy super tenere does in the canyons... the extra suspension travel of the ADV bike + ABS + TCS makes things so nice, plus its freaking comfy to ride!

Too bad as the looks go up the personality frequently goes down. A smokeshow that's vapid and shallow wouldn't be fun for long.
