    Ya that blows.

I cant go that hard on my daily, lol. Have an old beater TJ for that or my Honda SXS. Or my :bikewhoops:

So question. Do you think if you had the Marlin beef on there when you bent it, the super tabs would have just snapped the end of your cam bolt off? Wonder if it would work its way out and bottom a arm would drop out. Wondering if that was toyota's thinking with the flimsy ass tabs. Make them to flatten, but keep you from snapping the head off. I'm in the same boat, i'd probably snap them off too, at this point with the welds.

I think the marlin tabs would have prevented me from bending it. They are seriously beefy

Mechanically just welding the backs of the factory tabs will add an immense amount of strength to them.

I would try three small racks (top, bottom, middle) and see if you ever have an issue again.

Maybe this bottom plate, would keep the arm from moving and thus bending your cam bolt. I could see that.

Ya, i have had zero issues, since i welded my tabs back in March of 2018. My truck gets bounced around pretty heavily, ripping thru my pasture too. Always seem to find some rutted out hole, covered over with grass.

Crazy this was just brought to my attention last week during my alignment and the shop tech said to bring it back in once I got my tires and JBAs and they’d realign and put a weld head on it to hold in place. How does this happen?

The alignment tabs get flattened out because there is so much tension on the lower control arm, when you try and adjust without the front end lifted off the lift you will flatten them out. I do a elevated alignment on these trucks for that reason.

As far as I know the only alignments done to my truck has been elevated. I’m the original owner and I’ve never attempted to align the truck. Who knows what the shop I was taking it to before finding new alignment shop does though tbh. They never got me anywhere close and never felt like my alignment was any good at previous shop

Wheeling really hard can do it too. But mine were done from tards at alignment shop, attempting to loosen from the wrong side of the bolt and rolling it around on the tabs.

    Hey all,

Sorry for the delay, been traveling and haven't gotten a chance to get on here. I can't thank you all enough for the awesome knowledge dropped! I went back for a closer evaluation and attempted to bend the tabs back up but they were pushed down to the point of being essentially sheared off. Since the Marlin Crawler set (which I love and may possibly add later) relies somewhat on the factory tabs, I decided to go with the Total Chaos Fab reinforced tabs and am going to have them installed by @DOUBLLD in the coming weeks. Later on I may be adding the Marlin Crawler hardware for the reinforcement it provides but I am going to see how well this gusset kit keeps the alignments in place. I will post an update with pics as soon as I have 'em installed. Once again thanks for the fantastic info!

    Fingers crossed!

I am definitely going add anti-seize to the cam bolts as per your recommendation. I really don't want those things binding up.

Hello all, wanted to update everyone who helped along the way!

Got the Total Chaos tabs welded and installed by @DOUBLLD who knocked it out of the park with a super clean and quick job. Painted and anti-seized the cam bolts upon reassembly which is fantastic. Pic attached!

Anyone in or around Billings MT that has shop suggestions for getting these tabs straightened and welded?
Looking to do something like Zacowacko, I think that'll be all I ever really need. Les Scwabb keeps bending my tabs on the rack... They walk me out and show me everytime and tell me that something is seising up in the LCA
