    Phew... it's been a while!
At this point my hand is pretty much all healed up and back to mostly normal. Still numb through my index and thumb, but nothing more to do but just wait for the nerves to heal. I've had to adapt my playing style a little, and still struggling a bit with my index finger doing as it's told sometimes, lol.. but for the most part I'm back in the saddle of playing.

Also worked out a trade deal with an old friend over the weekend for this interesting thing - 1985 Gibson Spirit II XPL; not many spirit's were made, and even fewer with the explorer headstock. Not particularly valuable, just uncommon. Especially as this one has had a neck repair (neck separated from the pocket, as if the factory had not used enough glue way back in the day; and unfortunately it took some of the top finish with it), it also originally came with Tim Shaw humbuckers, which were removed and sold separately; which is okay with me as I intend to load it with something a little more on the aggressive side.

That really sucks to hear. The new ownership certainly feels a little more cold and "corporate" now; I couldn't imagine the likes of the original guard not caring. I mean, the new owners are doing great things to expand and help the brand grow and thrive, but some of that good ol' fashion mojo and soul seems to be missing from Heritage these days.

I'm very tempted to try and refinish the top on this... I don't mind bumps, bruises, and battle scars; but those lines really stick out like a sore thumb.

I am a fairly good painter, with some automotive painting experience under my belt; the only hesitation is scraping the binding after. That's where my confidence is quite low on being able to keep a clean line.
Maybe I can just send it to @Doughnut Spaghetti lol

    Funny thing is -

I remember seeing one of these guitars as a kid and thinking it was cool; which is why I jumped on this one... but now I'm reminded that Chris Hayes played one, and I believe he's the only notable artist that ever did... and (long story), but I absolutely despise Huey Lewis and the News.

I've gone from ecstatic over the acquisition, to realizing I may have made a terrible mistake, lol.

Lol, it's not that good of a story.

Growing up there was this kid my age who was not my friend. He was a bully and jerk, his parent's were smug yuppie jerks (living in a small rural town); the kind that liked to talk down about everything and everyone; and I had to listen to a good chunk of it; including talking down about me, to their kid, in front of me. Yet, I somehow always got stuck at their house after school and/or after church, and I hated every minute of it. They'd talk trash about me, my family, family of friends, etc... just awful, awful, people.

They loved Huey Lewis in the News. They were constantly playing it. Carpool somewhere. Huey Lewis; TV on VH1, turn it up when Huey came on. TV's not on, time to throw the cassette in. Sure there were other 80's tracks played, but Huey was embedded in my brain. Listening to them now is like finger nails on a chalkboard to me.

A few minor touchups on the finish, but Tru-Oil finish is done. Now the boring part and the part I do not like a out oil finishes, it has to dry or gas off for about a 3 weeks. It's worth it though. I really enjoy the look and feel of an oil based finish.

So there was so much polymer finish on this that this wear spot was entirely covered up. I was going to route it out and glue in some veneer, but I decided to leave it. It's part of the story of it. The frets where almost completely flat. Someone played the heck out of this. Next up is to intstall news frets, level, crown, and polish. Then just put her pack together and play. Happy to have the finishing part done though. Winter is coming and I would have been stuck in my basement sanding and spraying sealer etc.. Doing that outside is so much nicer. Can't wait until I find a new house.

afternoon all!! got a question for ya.. I have a Keeley Halo and and EH Pitchfork+. I picked up a M-audio EX-P for the EXP function for both. It uses a hardwired TRS cable. I want to split that signal to use the pedal for both. Is there a simple means by which to do this? I have seen the Mission Expressionator, but it seems like waaaaay more than what is needed to achieve this goal. any thoughts?? I am not really electrical/signal savvy, and I am relatively new to pedals in general. But it seems to me it just needs to route the signal. Not the audio. should be ultra simple, right?

You could try a Y cable, they do make 1/4" Female to Male/Male Y'sl or maybe just daisy chain the pedals together after the EXP? I've never used an expression pedal before, so no real experience with the best way to setup the path.

I am really surprised there aren't more options for this. So many effects are EXP capable these days, keeps from having to bend down to make adjustments to time and pitch based effects.

Unfortunately, regarding the daisy chain, the delay is in the EFX Loop, the Pitchfork is in front. :/

Do both pedals take an expression pedal with the same value pot?

Yes. I wouldnt need to adjust both at the same time. just want to use an A/B switch to route the EXP signal to the desired pedal....at least theoretically.
