Who knew Lowe's had a tool to design your own deck, I didn't until now. I told my wife I'll get more satisfaction sitting on it knowing we did it than paying someone else.

If you need any inspiration, the deck I designed 20 years ago at the old house that I planned on building myself (until those pesky kids came along) is still on the guy's site that I hired to build it.

 

Lady just called and ask was Friday at 1 a good time for them to come wire the generator, I said yeah my wife will be home I don't get home until 4. She said let me see if they have a morning appointment, I said it'll have to be early cause I leave at 6. She said oh, we'll just shoot for Friday at 1

 

Electric and internet off and on .

I just got tired of losing things

I tried to get my foot in there for scale but the odds of my falling over in the parking lot seemed too high.

I tried getting them to use it and the worker behind counter didnt even know it existed...so you know how that went...

 

I like those waterfall effect stairs that wrap around the entire lower portion. A composite like Trex would be neat, but probably very expensive.

 

Skunk smell UPDATE:
It's gone. Granddaughter threw up in back seat so, new smell! Yay!

Re Poll:
I drive my wife batshit crazy. She works on 42 things all at one time and never finishes much of anything. I usually have to finish but hey, 39 years now it's no big deal. Where I drive her crazy is, when I start something, I don't quit until it is completely done. I do one at a time and that blows her mind. It took me over a month and a half to do the bowls and nothing else except mow the grass.

Funny thing about decks. I have built several in my life and they also could serve as skid steer parking. Yea, I build em sturdy. I called the county inspector once when I had the supports and the joists complete. He took one look, signed off and told me I don't need to call him anymore.
Anyway, decks can be built a million different shapes but usually one or two shapes is what will look best for your surroundings.
