Ok, I'm sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. If so, I can't seem to find it.

I have a 2003 Taco and I'm looking to find the rails for the roof, pretty much identical or similar to the ones here:

you mean the oem roof rack?
That is what is in the pic you posted. It is a 2005+ roof rack accessory part available at the toyota dealers, ebay etc.
Does it fit a 2003? It mounts to holes under the roof strips.

Yeah. That's correct. I want the roof rack, but I only want the rails (the bars that go down both sides). I've seen roof racks for my 2003 Taco, but they are the ones with the cross bars and super square. I just want the rails that run down the side. I have not been able to find these for my 2003 Taco, thats why I posted it here to see if any other 2003 Taco owners were able to mount any kind of rails on the roof.

the one shown has the cross bars but they stow away in the side when you dont use them.
i dont think you can get just the rails without the cross bars. but if that one will fit your truck then get it because you dont have to have the cross bars out

Oh! Ok, great. I did not know that they stow away.

With that said. I don't mind getting those rails then. Do you know if these will fit my 2003?? And, if so, where can I get these?

If you don't know, does anyone else know?

Anyone with a 2003 Taco done this mod?

    Please advise!

    Thanks!!

The 05+ DCs are pre-drilled under the rubber strips on top of the roof to accept those rails. The rubber strip peels off voila appears the holes. Plus the 05+ DC roofs are curved differently than say the double cab of the 1st Gens which is what your truck is.

I have never seen a 1st Gen doublecab w/ this rail not saying it can't be done or someone hasn't fabbed up something that gets drilled into their roof. Most use the towers & cross bars that you do not want.

There are pics in the diy threads on installing your own roof rack (oem) and search the forum under 1st gen section, click on 1st gen & there is a button for just specifically searching that particular forum.

Good luck in doing the mod you want to your truck, maybe someone will pipe in be patient :)
