There was some discussion here about supplemental insurance a few posts ago. We just got our updates for 2024 and the amount we pay is going from $38 a month... down to $29. Some of the expenses like co-pays have changed, like up $5 on an emergency room visit. We have a quarterly amount we can spend on all kinds of medical products, has been $50 and now up to $75. That's really come in handy. Everything from vitamins and other supplements to toothbrushes, bath stools, crutches, walker, dental floss, allergy meds, bug spray... etc. etc. etc. Pages and pages of stuff to choose from. I don't know how or why they do it. We get enough stuff that we supply our kids needs... and now we have an increase in what we can buy. It's really kind of strange. Maybe they think people will take better care of themselves if they get something that's already paid for? Instead of lowering the monthly charge to begin with?

I did the same thing, old guys deserve young toys!
Was hard to part with the 96T100, it only had 650000 miles, young like me.
Moved up 10 years to an 06 Taco, it feels new to me.

Been all done since 1:00. Didn't go in for process pics, as their garage is not huge. Before and after pics are really going to be a challenge! So, here's an action shot of LBR waiting to go in the garage, while I slip down to the corner bar to wait!

Shop Closing But Still Offering Services

Good Morning all of our amazing clients . We are closing the shop after 6 and a half great years . With that being said we will still be offering our tint and detail services but will just be home based for a little while . I will start looking for a shop again within a year or 2 . Just want to expand our service offerings a little bit more then get back into a shop . We would love everyone’s support through this transition . I’ve personally been doing all the tint work the past 4 years but I personally will be going back to doing most of the work on every detail job as well with a little help from Renay that’s been with us for about 6 months .

You folks can keep all that! Nary a drop for us, and it no longer looks promising tonight. Back to regular watering again....

    Evening all:
INTERESTING! At the funeral, it was mentioned that my old childhood buddy was the recipient of 2 purple hearts, don't recall him ever mentioning that over the years. I knew that he had served on the USS Guadalcanal, and he also mentioned that he had been on river boats, I didn't know that to be factual since he sometimes had a tendency to exaggerate , but it could very well be true and justify the 2 purple hearts.

Big day for me today. Friday was my last day at work…today (Monday) is my first day of retirement. The wife, dog, and I are taking break from the Texas heat and we’re in northwest New Mexico (Georgia O’Keefe country).

Are you going to check out Chaco Canyon? We finally made it there last spring. Fascinating place if you are into that kind of thing. The road in and out is ba-a-a-a-a-a-d, but IMO, worth the trip. Of course every road I traveled in NM was terrible. Biggest and most frequent pot holes I've ever seen in the US. I'll never complain about the roads in other states I've traveled again.

Taos has so many great art galleries...

Oh... and happy days! Welcome to being so busy you wonder how you ever had time to work for a paycheck.

Congrats on your retirement. I retired 1st of May. We have a small cabin 15 miles south of Angel Fire NM. Go every chance we get but been so busy this summer only been twice. Thought I was going to have a lot of free time retired, more going on than when I was working!!
