Congratulations on the new truck! Like you I try to keep all my vehicles looking new. My '16 has lived in my garage since day 1, still looks like it just came off the showroom floor. I learned long ago, like you I'm "old", that if you keep your vehicle clean, you'll get top dollar when you sell or trade.

In your profile picture, you have a German Shepherd. How old is he/she? Good looking boy/girl. I have a 10 year old female Shepherd, they're fantastic dogs! I've had Shepherds as pets my whole life, great companions, very loyal and smart. Hope you love yours as much as I love my girl!

I wouldn’t either normally- but I actually wish I’d kept it. I just don’t need another vehicle and I was afraid to let it just sit.
The truck is in immaculate shape- but things will go wrong with it.

We adore GSDs. We have had 4….the one in the pic passed away this past Christmas Eve - she was only 8 (cancer). We had been on a couple of lists for another and we got another in February. We are empty nesters and own a horse farm but all 3 of our children were raised with a GSD in the home.

As much as I drive and needing the maneuverability of a small truck…I did not trust getting anything different.

I downsized to the Taco for the same reason. The Tundra is a great truck, but more than I need. I am loving the Pro and looking forward to many years of worry free driving.

You say you wish you'd kept your older truck. Is that for sentimental reasons, or have you found something you dislike about the new truck?

Thanks - it still looked like new inside as well - I kept Carhartt seat covers on it for my dog. We just believe in taking care of equipment.

Oh no, I’m not sentimental, my wife wanted it for that reason. I thought I might like it to continue driving and not putting 60-70k miles on the new truck. I really like the 3rd gen and thought that might keep in one longer haha.

Ah, that makes sense. You should get plenty of miles out of the new turck you snagged, and should you decide to jump ship, that Pro will retain it's value really well. Apologies if I missed it, but did you get it with a manual transmission or and automatic?

TRD Pros and TRD Sports come with the hood scoop. My Off-Road does not.
    They are non-functional.

While they look cool, I'd rather get back the inch or two of windshield... YMMV. I guess I am getting practical in my old age.

Congrats on the new truck. I actually thought your old truck was another new truck on the lot in the side by side pic at first glance.

Auto…I have had a lot of knee surgeries- going to get replacement surgery on both knees as soon as I can find the time.
I do find it amusing all the talk about standard transmissions and folks that can’t drive them. Heck my kids are in their 20s and they all can drive them so can all of their friends. I guess that goes with being raised in the country haha.

Haha. I know…I do the unforgivable - to some- I go through a car wash (usually) every morning and it has brushes. Good thing is, at my age I can’t see the swirl marks.

Obviously my old truck, an off road, didn’t have the hood scoop. I’d prefer it not to be there but surprisingly it hasn’t got in the way.

No money, all went to truck...
I understand about sports and hood scoops, I was curious when they started making it black and do all models get black?

How do you like the fox suspension compared to the Bilsteins? Enjoying the hood scoop over the OR hood?

Looks great either way, i'm sure in 6 years it will look the same.
