cantilevered air bags?

I boxed the frame AND plated the outside... figured as much reinforcement where the airbags were mounting wasnt a bad idea. I can take some better photos this week once I actually clean the truck from its mud bath last weekend to show the airbags in place

 

while designing a cantilever system looks fun, have you looked at how much lower profile you can make the mounts on top and below the airspring?
if you keep that height minimal, you might get enough up travel.
also there are various height air springs. Airlift makes 3 different heights in their internal jounce stop integrated product line alone.

while i'm on 63s so it isn't exactly what your setup is, I had the same concerns but keeping the bracket heights minimal, I have plenty of up travel without having to notch the frame.

sorry I only have pics from when i was doing the whole rear suspension, so nothing specifically looking at the brackets for cradles and air springs

 

I have 32" tires, about 13" of travel at almost stock height. Thanks for the tip about the different sizes of bag they have.

 

how much of that is intended for up travel (if you ignore the air spring system)?

Airlift's 58496 spring (this is what I am using) is designed for 5-7" at ride height, with max extension of 9", max compression of 2.7". Assuming you are 6.5"/6.5" od up and down travel, this should be a good choice if you can fit the compressed height + brackets

 

on the front I have a 50/50 split of 6.5 up and 6.5 down. On the rear, I'm getting around 3" up.

 

3" uptravel isn't really sufficient if you're doing anything but highway driving. you might want to think about notching the rails if you need to maintain that ride height.

 

Agreed. I'm really pushing to find a fix here. I'm at a conference all week so I cant work on this.
