For street use, or MILD/EASY offroad stuff, a drop bracket lift is fine. BUT, you will be permanently altering your frame. A 2-3 inch suspension lift can be installed in a couple hours in a driveway, and taken back out and your truck be stock again just as fast. But once you cut a piece of your frame out, there is no going back without expensive repairs to your frame. This can also hurt resale, depending on who is interested in buying the truck.

Could you share a couple pics you've found online to show us what look you are going for?

I bought mine and had the dealer do a Toytec 3inch spacer/coil kit. Along with having them add TRD wheels and KO2 tires. Truck sits tall enough for me and stance is very mild, yet aggressive. For comparison, my buddies 3rd gen is lifted with Rough Country "3inch" kit and same spec tire K02, and my truck sits slightly higher than his (not quite 1/4 inch from fender to ground) Link to kit dealer put in:

Is this a good image for you to see what I am thinking height wise/ look? (I don't care if it is level.)

If that's what you're going for, use the $800 to get some spacers and blocks

You should be able to do that with a spacer lift like that ToyTec kit someone posted above. You'll also need a block for the rear suspension, but those are cheap.

Just note that pushing your front suspension to 3 inches or more of lift causes your CV axles to be at a very steep angle, and will cause them to wear out much more quickly.

What is the difference now to get the cheaper kit?

The difference is the picture of the truck you posted is basically just leveled and that look is achievable with the cheaper spacer/block combination. This leaves you some funds to put towards wheels and tires.

Yea I don't care about the level at all I just water to show the height looks like. Also a 3+ inch lift for under 1000. More looking for kit recommendations that can still do some off-roading. I have heard bad things about RC because the car will be my daily driver(don't want to cut my frame if possible)

The only way your getting more than 3" and a compliant ride without cutting your frame is with portals and that's waaaay outside of what you're looking to spend. If you want the best bang for your buck lift for what you're looking to spend then just get 5100's on all 4 corners 887 coils and blocks for the rear. Other than that, do some research...im out :hattip:

My suggestion for the easiest thing to do in your price range would be to find a reputable offroad shop near you and request a 3 inch front bracket lift with a 1 to 2 inch rear block lift. They will know what you are talking about, and will source from whatever their normal supplier is.

as long as shocks arent too long like the rough country kits then this is a decent kit for the price. id never recommend a spacer/block lift no matter how low the budget when it comes to toyota ifs. also you could pair the 3" kit with a 1" body lift just to get that little extra height. youl hear lots of opinions on body lifts on these but 1" is absolutely fine imo.

Go 2” and enjoy the life of your lift, parts and such much longer for less $$

why buy a nice truck and put junk on it that is risky….?

I've been thinking of a 1" body lift to help clear 35's. I'm concerned about how bumpers would fit though? Wouldn't there be a 1" gap?
