DRLs Not Turning Off After Locking

2022 OR with 14K.

I always run my truck with the DRLs on (unless it’s dark), never in Auto Mode. Got to work and locked my truck, but the lights didn’t go off, even after double clicking the lock button. This has never happened before. Waited the 30s and still they stayed on. I have to manually shut the lights off using the control knob until I figure this out.

All my door sensors work. Any ideas?

EDIT: When I say “DRL” I mean parking lights.

 

your timer may be set longer than 30 seconds. wait a minute and see if they turn off. do you have any aftermarket lights at all? Ski

 

my timer is set to 30 seconds. But just to make sure I did wait for over two minutes and the lights did not turn off. Even if my timer was set longer, pressing the lock button twice, should still turn it off. I do not have aftermarket lights installed

 

I get home today after my commute and the truck is working properly now. I don’t like this…

 

I have the LED DRLs and always have my lights set to auto. The DRLs turn on and off with the parking brake. I always use the brake so I really don't know if they turn off as soon as you turn off the truck.

 

I don’t like using Auto. I want control over my lights and when to turn them off and on. Regardless, weird behavior today. I foresee a dead battery in my truck in the future - the one time it messes up again and I forget to check the lights.

 

If the event of dead battery happens. May I suggest a self jumping battery system, so you don't have to worry about finding another vehicle to assist.

 

I read this and I’m waiting for a doctors appointment waiting in the parking lot looking at a glass window. My setup is the exact same parking brake does not turn off stock LED DRLs.

 

I have a 2021 OR 4x4 and mine is doing this too. It’s intermittent, don’t know when it will happen. I just got in the habit of turning them off when I get out and back on to auto before I close the door. Looks like it’s a common thing. Great.

 

You're contradicting yourself or I'm misunderstanding.

There isn't a separate setting for DRL off/on. I've got:

DRL off
Auto
Parking lights
Headlights

You have to leave it in the Auto setting to run the DRLs. Unless I'm missing something that's the only way to activate the DRLs.

 

I leave my parking lights and fogs on the switch 24-7, (2019 sport 4x4). they shut off when the truck door opens, for me to get out. not sure what is going on with the OP's truck. Ski

That setting is called parking lights? Weird. Well that’s what I mean. I’ll edit my original post.

Do the lights go off when you hit the lock button twice?

In my original post, no they did not.

 

Another thing I noticed is my instrument back lighting stays on in the cab after I have locked the vehicle when I have the stalk set to parking lights. Is this normal? Dome lights go off.

 

This isn't one of those funky Euro things where you have your turn signal to one side or the other when parking?
Wife's previous BMW, if you turned the car off with the turn signal on, running lights on that side of car stayed on.
