I'm willing to bet it never got sized properly. I had to grind mine down for it to work.

It's a relatively easy job maybe took a half hour. Freeze the bushing overnight and it'll make your life easier. And if you havnt get a new seal aswell.

I know it says "What have you done to your 3rd Gen today" but I'm being impatient. My bed stiffeners will arrive by tomorrow, and installed on Thursday. The truck cap shop called and said my Cap arrived and made an appointment for Friday A.M.

A couple of creature comfort additions. I decided on restoring the things that I see or touch the most while driving. The instrument cluster lens which looked like it was cleaned regularly with 80 grit sandpaper, and the steering wheel. This was a former fleet rental so old wheel had to go.

    New oem steering wheel

    IMG_6092.jpg IMG_6093.jpg

New instrument cluster lens (added Screen ProTech since I was replacing it).

    IMG_6090.jpg IMG_6092.jpg

Added protective film to shift indicator (also massively scratched up)

    IMG_6088.jpg

    Old instrument cluster lens

    IMG_6091.jpg

Pretty straightforward installs. Anyway, makes it seem newish.

    Edit:

This arrived and decided to slap it on and get it in under the ‘today’ wire. Of course the bolt was seized and despite using liquid wrench, wouldn’t budge. Had to drill it out and drop in a new bolt (with anti-seize). I’d pay a few bucks more from the factory if they used anti-seize ffs.

Took these Rough Country Leveling Struts on a barter deal and decided not to install them. I will be selling them.

Added a pic of the nice and shiny new rear axle too :D

Fresh set of Grapps. The old set had 58K miles and was down to the stone ejectors (little nubs you see between every other lug).

    Not Even!

The tightest bolt is the one to remove the bracket connecting the tailgate.

I ended up buying the SaBellCo lock because I couldn't remove that T-bolt!

The screw came off without too much torque.

It was a loaner from another member so I didn't want to take the liberty of grinding. Thought I had it sat properly. Did see somewhere on here (after the fact) that you shouldn't use a socket--which I had so that might have contributed. Either way, the pilot bearing puller was too damn easy. I'd recommend that over the ECGS puller in terms of ease of use.
