    1st gen 1995.5-2004
    2nd gen 2005-current

you can take doors from a 95.5 and put on a 2004 or the entire front clip... small updates like the grille style headlights etc is not a new generation truck its a facelift. also they made 4 doors in 1995.5 just not in USA the hilux was available 4 door for years like 80's I think was first. and their body parts are interchangable with same year USA trucks

Anyone know why the 4-door hilux cab is longer/bed is shorter than the 4-door tacoma (1st gen)? See below...http://www.outbackimports.ca/images/sale/06/06-66-6f_toyota_hilux_4x4.jpg

It's obvious to me that something is being lost in translation...I'll just ask someone, somewhere else. Thanks anyway!

My question related to why hilux cabs/bodies are longer/shorter, respectively, from tacoma bodies...1st gen. I didn't intend to enter the 1st gen/2d gen/3d gen debate. Again...I'll look elsewhere.

that hilux is same as the style in USA before tacoma like my 1993... the newer kilux's are basically same as our 1st gen tacoma double cabs ... they base the hilux crew cabs off the extra cab regular bed's frame so on the older non tacoma trucks it was a wee bit shorter than 1995.5 -2004 tacoma extra cab wheel base wise hence little less bed

or same body style as my old 89 [IMG]
