Looks like a Porsche 356, but maybe an early one off made for some kind of speed purposes.

With a little looking, 1939 Type 64 prototype.

still?? Thought that thing was long gone. Sorry, hope she moves on soon so you can dry out.

Nice. Is it on the inside or outside of the windshield?

Looks like a VW bug with a bubble skirt :notsure:

It's on the inside. Takes about a day in "normal" heat to dry and clarify. I timed it so I could remove my registration and toll stickers, and did not know I would be timing it to his closing the shop! I also have a camera mount, and wire carrier next to the mirror that I removed and reinstalled.
You can barely tell it's tinted at all from inside. And after I wiped off some excess, clear as can be. What surprised me today was how tinted it looks from a distance, and the reflectivity that was not there before (clouds in pics). Now, LBR is all modern ceramic tints.

If that car is the real deal -- one very similar failed to sell for $17 million.

Never knew of the Type 64, you learn new things all of the time! When I first saw the pic, I recognized the 356 style lines and also thought that the lower part of the body reminded me of the 550 Spyder.

New dishwasher this afternoon. Local appliance store opened shortly after we appeared on the scene 30+ years ago and has been excellent to deal with, but now prices are off the chart. SOP. I'll run a test load or two, then maybe I can get off mess duty. Hmm.. better read the manual first.. it says you can just set a soap pod on the bottom somewhere, as long as it's not on the debris screen. Good news! Those soap compartment doors are prone to jamming, which will disable the dishwasher, and it's a bitch to fix, so I won't use it. Soap pods aren't sized consistently anymore. Some are too fat, putting pressure on the soap door latch, jamming it closed. Been this way for 20+ years that I know of. Wake up, dishwasher makers! :annoyed: Rant over.

THX Chuck. I thought it might be in the contest requirements. I enjoyed the pics. I hope you win.

Interesting. I thought all states did not allow a full front window tint unless you have a medical condition. I have a 6" tint visor on my Tacoma with a 10% tint which is allowed in Maryland.

Good morning. We had a mist all day yesterday. Cancelled the yard work for today till next week. Today is a two-hour lesson learned meeting for Chief Judges, I have a list! ;) Going to have a shrimp dinner with broccoli and homemade M&C. Hope the rain mist breaks today.

Well, it gets HOT here! And amazingly, Texas actually kept up. Here's the two specific clauses to the TX code that relate to overall tint on the front:
    1. Sunscreening devices, when measured in combination with the original glass, must have a luminous reflectance value of 25% or less.

    2. A clear (un-tinted) UV film is allowed anywhere on the front windshield without a medical exemption being required.

:fingerscrossed: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! NOT a hangar day, it's off to a long scheduled heart Doctor, haircut, and some errands. Going to have to try to get the next one not on Wednesday, but I think that's the day he's in San Marcos. Since it was right in the middle of the morning, I just threw the haircut in today as well.

I think it's a good copy. taillights are different, no rear markers, the rear window is just a little different, as are the vents, and no decal on driver front. And those plates - who would cover the historic ones? Could be wrong. Last publicly listed owner was a Dr. in Austria, but it was sold to "unknown" when it went to auction.

    Good Morning Everyone!
Been a bit enjoyed some of the of the new posts. Sounds like we're picking up some new company here, welcome. I've been busy with going through stuff in the garage waiting for the project I've been working on to dry out so I can complete it. Hopefully tomorrow. I've found in a couple totes old toys from my childhood. Google lense tells me some of its worth a few bucks.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/Porsche chasers. The remnants of Ophelia FINALLY meandered off last night, two days late. We've been out cleaning up the yard.

I'm reminded of the cars of Chris Runge. But I don't think it's one of his.
