i think the story is the woman was running communications support up there and for whatever reason, she went up that berm on the right. don't know if this was early morning in the dark or maybe she got distracted. they didn't say in the facebook post.

 

^that's a bummer as you're right, darkness and fog could've played a factor but still, tough to see the Taco on its side. However the report states it was a "He", but you're saying it's a "She"? This whole gender thing gets me confused.

 

Yah a total bummer to see that and to put salt into the wound the interwebs is killing it on the comments about the flat trail.

 

Ya know in the comments by the person who posted, he said she but I think everyone else assumed it's a guy. It's always been amusing to me that people get shocked when it's a woman behind the wheel.

Mistakes happen and I as a guy had a few questionable snafus. . . . lol. You live and you learn, life goes on.

 

I read in a few SCOR fb comments about the post that it was an 85yo man named Sam. Maybe, Sam was going too fast at the section just before the corner, misjudged the way of the trail and went up the berm? Or, he was trying to avoid oncoming traffic at a speed that made the vehicle harder to control and went up the berm? Or the trail conditions, like fog or darkness/low light, made it more difficult to see the path and that led him to go up the berm? Whatever it was… berm.

 

parked next to my doppelganger, a new SR5, at work in Camarillo. my buddy parked his 4Runner next to his as well. both ours are the ones with the "Toyota" grilles.
