Replacement Serpentine Belt

Hey all, as the title says its time for me to replace my serp belt. I'm at about 85k, and Toyota recommends replacing it at/before 100k. I wheel pretty frequently so I figure its best to do it sooner rather than later.
Just trying to confirm that this will fit?

Is says it fits 3rd Gen Tacos, so what is your concern?

 

Amazon being amazon lol. I was looking at some 33in AT tires on there the other day and it said they were only 35lbs which was definitely wrong. Just want to be sure before I commit to the job.

 

It lists interchange with 7PK2121, while Rock Auto lists the appropriate belt for the 3.5 as

7PK2120. The Goodyear belt is about 0.15 inch longer than the Bando belt (Bando being the typical OEM supplier for Toyota).

 

Thanks, this is what I wanted to double check. You think it will be okay if I just adjust the tensioner pulley?

 

^The tensioner pulley is spring-loaded; nothing you can adjust. I don't know if 0.15" extra length would bottom out the tensioner (and cause slippage with the power steering pump, etc.).

You see TW's Amazon affiliate link at the bottom of this page? The Bando belt is cheaper and likely better quality.

Trust me just buy one from Toyota from sparks parts or another dealer with best deal. My OEM serpentine belt lasted me 140k before it started squeeling then i put on an aftermarket premium belt im pretty sure from Gates or Bando and it started squeeking horribly after 15k.. already replaced it with an OEM and no issues since

Worth the money in my experience

 

I ended up ordering the goodyear one. It's the same length once you convert the Bando one to inches. 2120mm = 83.46in. Only off by 0.04in or 1mm. I think it will be fine

 

If you get the old belt off without cutting it, keep it in the truck in case the new one breaks on the road. Here is a video you may find helpful. The guy leave the video running in real time so you see how long it takes.

It’s an easy install took me an hour the first time and about 40 minutes the 2nd time. Maybe the goodyear will work out for you and last longer than the Dayco one I bought to replace my OEM the first time

 

Continental belts are about the best you can get in my experience... Dayco is a second choice..

 

I’m just perplexed why do some people prefer inferior aftermarket parts just to save a few bucks .

 

Did mine… used oem from Toyota. Not something I want to risk a failure on with a cheap belt.

same logic applies to timing belts on my Ducati. No aftermarket belts, period.

 

Dayco I used just bc i didn’t wanna wait for the oem to arrive and installed the dayco the day of it beginning to squeak lasted 20k miles for me. Had oem as backup and installed oem and all has been great for the last 7k miles. First oem lasted 140k before squeaking

 

Yall got good luck with your OEM belts. Myself and many other had squealing belts at 30-40k miles. Replaced mine with another OEM at like 38k and still going strong (71k now).
