know this is backing up a bit... but im behind on the thread. thats a great resource.

for those of you who care: i let my CC expire. for the exact reason mentioned in another post. In most states if you have a CC, it comes up with your drivers license or when they run your tags. i have a lot of LEO friends & they all say this puts them on alert/edge. id just as soon NOT have a nervous cop come up to my door AGAIN.

most places i roam allow open carry or now recognize Constitutional Carry as we call it. (the right to carry concealed without a permit)

i practice both options, depending on what the state allows. If you are just getting a random pull over or sobriety check? its really not a big deal & they have no reason to need to know if you are carrying or not.

Its actually against the law now in most states that allow non permit concealed carry for them to even ask you if you have a concealed weapon. THEY STILL DO. If you politely answer & arent acting guilty or nervous? it hasnt been an issue for me or the wife in quite a while. (it was at one time, story below)

not saying it "cant" be... just that it hasnt for a long time. there is always an exception & thats part of carrying daily that you have to accept.

    story:
back when i HAD a CC permit? i had a StaPo doing a random check, make me get out of the car, lay on the ground in the rain, hands behind my head while he took my gun, dropped the mag on the ground, unpiped it & threw that round away in the weeds. of course everything came back clean & i remained polite.

but when he said yeah your good to go & can get in your car.... then he handed me my gun back & then handed me the clip. did have to ask him what that was all about & why that procedure with wasting a very good golden sabre 45acp.

he looked at me & said if you want it, go look for it & left. yes, i did get his badge number, name, car number, location & lodge a complaint about officer training of how to handle a CC pull over.

yeah, i just conceal & roll on now days.

I start with my French press and have a few cups. Later in the day, if I am feeling lazy, I use the Keurig. My go to is usually this one, Tim Horton's dark.

Nope. No coffee after noon or the caffeine keeps me awake.

Well there's your problem, you need more of it. Once your body adjusts to the constant deluge of caffeination throughout the day, nighttime partaking is not an issue.

Sleep isn’t an issue, the mid afternoon cup comes with leaf pickup, snow removal, firewood chores. I avoid caffeine in the afternoon if I’m just doing normal stuff.

I'm pretty sure Cali doesn't reciprocate even between counties in Cali.:frusty:
I've never been able to get one, even though I was easily qualified for secret clearance. Now MR. newsome has added all kinds of legislation even after Huber in NY. We do have a new county sheriff though, maybe I should try again. Last time, I was the treasurer for the local Little League, and every night carried the snack bar cash for the bank the next morning Weekdays was generally a grand, weekends I could be holding 3-4G. Fields were in a less-than-ideal part of town. Nope, no CCW for uncle Wede.

It's another SoCal sunny, 69 day. The only time leaves fall off the trees is when the wind blows. Santa Anas ought to start up pretty soon.

It could have something to do with your avatar... But it's California, so maybe not.:D But seriously, I'd keep trying. I've seen way to many videos of food concession robberies or people with lots of cash being followed home and robbed in their driveway. They are not supposed to be able to deny permits to anyone who meets the qualifications any longer. But there are lots of anti-gun laws in Cali, and lots of court cases opposing them. It's a very fluid situation where gun laws for the law abiding are concerned. One of the main reasons you're not likely to see me in that state again. :annoyed:

Yeah. I have a few cups in the morning, one in the afternoon and typically one after dinner and I have no problem sleeping or with jitters. Of course, my grandmother started giving me coffe at a young age. She told me how, durung the Great Depression, their dinner would often be a piece of bread dipped in a cup of coffee. It's like in Europe they feed wine to the their children (or beer in Germany) with little outward issues.

This is why I like living here in Tennessee is that you can conceal or open carry with no issues in this State

we love East TN & would move there for sure if we could get "unhooked" from where we are.

wife has to work 7 more years here. Daughter is just getting established in her field. and most importantly: our dogs did NOT like the move last time & wont do that to them again. so probably 5 more years for these English Bullys to live, THEN we could move.

we love the people in East TN, the weather mix is a bit better, the mountains, the cheaper everything, can still buy land.... also my younger sister lives in Knoxville...

Why are my allergies so freaking bad this week?!?! There can’t possibly be any pollen out - everything is supposed to be dying now! Been super stuffy, worse than in July.

Thought all you fishermen would like this. Went over to snap some pics at the boat ramp and the DNR folks arrived and dumped 1200 catfish. Amazing situation because the theme for this weeks photo contest is "fish" LMAO
