DOS? Jeez, yeah, I grew up using 98 somewhat but XP was the most memorable from my upbringing. Probably dates the both of us.

If you're just looking for OS media, there's a lot of modernized XP projects (as well as 98SE/2K/Vista) that are available & I could point ya to. My generation has disposable income and free time now :D

He will follow you everywhere, and I mean literally everywhere. Mine wants to hang himself on the fridge while I cook, sit on my lap while I play games, play in my truck cab while I wrench on shit, go to the bathroom with me, there's not a place he doesn't want to be. Very rewarding experience. I didn't get it in spite of being told until it actually happened. Your hobbies will very much shape him and his interests as well.

We feel the 'one is enough' already lol. Would give up anything in the world just to have this experience, but that doesn't make it any less difficult or terrifying.

Indeed, I make very good money for our area, but feel like I don't have time to enjoy lately.

I definitely need to find a groove and get out and enjoy, not just sit at home grumpily waiting for the next day.

My local Walmart still has a few Sony XAV-AX150 units on clearance for a little south of $80, worth checking your local store and seeing if they have any of their discontinued (softly or completely pulled) units marked down. I put one in my Taco and one in a family member's forester.

    38 here, so maybe

Yeah just point and I shoot; had always been wary of downloading anything online for awhile so figured I'd hope to run into retail disc version at some point

I gave away so many PC parts in my moving multiple times, anyway

Was telling someone else this but being a SAHD has made the little guy so much more attached to me than mom; it's a crazy awesome feeling knowing that you can bring that level of comfort to the little one, but at the same time I'm like "dangit I gotta do this or do that" and he'll cry with mom while waiting for me to be done.

Nice to hear about the hobbies and interests. Read that it's enough just to have him or her around, doing their thing, while in your presence and you do yours. It naturally invites them to get involved and next thing you know, they're into the same stuff you are!

So he'll definitely learn to bake, weld, run cnc, but hopefully I can get him into long range shooting as well.

Money wasn't consistent when I was growing up either, so we mostly had gifted or low end computers in the house. I love Windows and I am certainly a PC power user. But using mostly Macs in school created a fondness for them too. I have never bought one new, or even semi new though. I just chase after the ones I had fun with as a kid. Most of my computers growing up were garbage picked and fixed up by me. My first Mac I got was a Macintosh Classic that was shipped and lost by UPS and when found the owner no longer wanted it so I was able to get it from the UPS store that had it in its possession for free. After that I got various G3 and G4 towers and most recently I've moved on to the all in ones. Right now on the Mac side of my computer collection I have a Apple IIc, Macintosh Plus with 20SC, iBook G3 12", iMac Tray loader in Strawberry, iMac slot loader in blue, eMac G4 with ATi graphics, and somewhere (haven't found it after the move) is a PowerBook G4 Platinum. There's a larger collection of Commodore/DOS/Windows PCs in my basement as well. All that pretty much cemented my career path toward IT haha.

Sounds like we had similar experiences. I sometimes hang out in the Macintosh Garden but not on Low End Mac so much anymore.

Same lol, everyone in my office is doing something else along with their work. I get all my stuff done pretty early in the day and the rest is usually spent on dealing with tickets and e-mails that come in so there's ample downtime. Hell I cleaned the back room the other day cause the beginning of the year after the first week is SLOOOOOW

I still don't understand who would send a hand-written letter to somebodies workplace over an effing forum. Does he own protection? You have to have screws loose. I haven't been here long but the Critter fella seemed super down to earth and kind. Why resolve yourself to taking somebody away from the community that brings happiness to them? Was there some sort of beef I wasn't here for?

My job could not give a shit less what I do while I work as long as I maintain my (far above expectation) productivity level and it doesn't compromise confidentiality/take place on my work computer. Left the other day on my lunch to take a nap for an hour and a half. If somebody sent in a hand-written letter saying I'm on a forum too often, there would be audible laughing.

Was listed at $250 at the time I bought, they're marked down with yellow clearance stickers in store (at least my local one) and they have a newer model of Sony unit in stock.

I never got into Archer but its on my list to binge. I hear the final season is coming out. I agree about Rick and Morty, They completely changed Korvos voice in Solar Opposites. It was a better way to go.
