I'm 23, that tracks lol. First baby of my own but raised my 3 siblings solo for several years as our mother was in active addiction at the time & we had not yet gotten away from that environment, so I had a good pre-cursor to the experience and a good idea of how to care for a baby -- a lot of people don't have that chance (which is probably good, frankly).

Had the exact same experience! The 'crying while he waits for you but mom is caring for him' is a phase he'll grow out of thank god, we went through that too because I make an effort to be extremely present in spite of my workload. It's endearing but can definitely be frustrating, especially for Mom. In my case it took a lot of reassurance from other moms that she wasn't doing anything wrong & he would grow out of it as he learned to communicate better.

That's exactly it! Just him watching you do normal, every day shit you're into will bring him into that as well. Curiosity might have killed the cat but it's great for baby.

 

How was he not reported before, I mean the red flags are all there

 

This time of year I don't have a lot to do. Just reorganizing and interviews the rest is mostly down time waiting for another person to apply for a job.

I actually did report J once because he was threatening suicide and I didn't know how to deal with it

 

Man I'm not that much older, but I feel old now haha.

 

LOVE Archer. It is reeeeeally a slow burn, even on re-watches it takes me a minute to get back into it. Stylistically in general, but especially character involvement changed a lot for the better around S2. Not a fan of the coma seasons but not skip-worthy.

I take it you're the oldest? I am and my mom was a single mom of 4 so dealing with 3 young siblings was something I too grew up wtih

That makes the whole having a kid even easier, definitely not for everyone!

But man that's great to hear, I'm glad he'll grow out of it quick! I say this because I learned a lot about what a mom goes through both mentally and physically and it's so easy for them to fall into depression always wondering if what they're doing is even "enough".

You weren't in this thread yet but several here know my wife had been hospitalized for almost 2 months straight within a week of having our kid. Was freaking hard dealing with all that and raising the little dude but got plenty of help and support fortunately. She's still 'getting better' so to speak but it'll be a long recovery process for sure.

 

Have to say, one thing I've grown to hate now is how they're implementing so many damn musicals in everything

Not sure if it was the Bobs Burgers movie or an episode but more musical numbers than ever before, just like Disney movies

I raised my 3 (substantially younger) siblings for several years as a teenager because my mother was an addict, started working lawn care & demo with family friends at around 11 to get the things I wanted and we needed, moved up to fast food on a work permit at 15, busted my ass and graduated from HS early once I got into a better home environment with other family, got a full ride to go to private school, moved out of state at 17 with $2K to my name, no car, nothing -- by myself -- technically without permission -- family member used their name so I could get an apartment, worked my way up the ladder in automotive from a lot attendant, and then moved across the country to California to work and go back to school, again, by myself. Secured a good job post-grad, moved close to home again and got a house. "You can't do that" is not a phrase I understand. Taught myself how to fix computers, cars, weld, do appliance repair, electrical, name it. I try my best.

My co-workers like to joke that I'm the only 20-something they've ever met who looks like a 15 year old and talks like I have the life experiences of a 50 year old.

 

The Bobs movie had way to much singing in it! And it was almost the same plot as the 2 part Wharf Horse episodes. I was not the biggest fan of the movie.
