Has anyone had any problems with a wet carpet in the back when it rains?

It looks like it's coming from underneath the rear carpet only. I have weathertech mats and its not wet on top or anywhere else in the truck just underneath it. I was wondering if anyone has seen this or if you know any of the possible sources on where it could come from.

Front Carpets are dry and good.
It's only wet when it rains in the rear passenger both sides.

Sprayed the outside with a water hose nothing visible is dripping or wet.

Any help is appreciated, Thank You!

Some of the earlier model years had water coming through the cargo/3rd stop light assembly…. There was a recall for that. But I thought by 2020 that was fixed

Yeah, I read something about that. I checked around that 3rd Light it looks pretty sealed to me, but I'll run water directly on it to make sure.

From what I have seen from other posts the leaking water isn’t visible unless you pull back on the headliner…. If the light assembly is the source of the leak.

3rd Brake light, Sunroof, and Roof Rack are the usual culprits for water leaks.

Is the carpet wet behind the seats or just under the floor Matt ? Did it rain recently? I would also check the back door seal for any cracks or the window was not rolled up all the way if it rained .usually with the brake light water will be behind the seats also .

That looks pretty wet, seems like it should be obvious if the water is coming in from somewhere else. There is water underneath the mats but not on top of them, maybe there is a hole in the floor.

Is water coming in while driving or parked? That will help narrow it down some. Third taillight would be my first guess.

When my roof rack leaked (new and defective), I would have water on the inside of the front windshield in the morning. Seems the water evaporated in the heat of the day and condensed on the windshield at night. Don’t think I had nearly as much water as shown by OP.

Just the carpet where your feet go in the back passenger. I did not see anything else, just that. Super weird. It did rain when and nothing else was wet just those spots on the carpet. I'll add more seal in the 3rd Brake Light and see if that works.

Do you have a sunroof or roof rack?

Check door seals as well. Really just gotta run a hose over every crack and see where its coming from. Had same problem with my f150 and eventually sold it because tired of dealing with it

I'd take out the weathertech floor mats for a bit too. Having them established that your issue is likely coming from a leaky 3rd brake light, rear vent, or other place where it is running down the walls and onto the carpet. The weathertech floor mats are hindering drying at this point. Maybe with dry carpet, you can better pinpoint the right area to look at.

    Hi,Taco5-26.
Did you ever figure out where the water was coming from? I am having the same issue on my 2016 TRDOR. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks so much!
