Power steering o-ring size for steering rack?

I am replacing the steering rack in my gen 1. While i was under the truck a gust of wind blew the bag containing the supplied o-rings. Well- I found the bag but, alas, no o-rings.
Does anyone have an idea on the size o-rings I need so I can go buy and get this job done today? Thanks.

I replaced my rack with an OEM a couple months ago and do not recall an O-ring, anywhere. Do you mean rack bushings? (Not likely, it would take a gale force wind to blow those across the yard.) What rack, an aftermarket rack? Since it has been a while, hope you sorted it out.

 

I ended up putting it back together without the o-ring. No leak yet but also haven't driven it much. By a stupid stroke of luck I found one last night. I'll just wait and see if it leaks. I'm just glad I now have one I can take to the hardware store and get a clone if need be.

Aftermarket, yeah. They come with two o-rings for use in the power steering lines that go into the rack.

 

When I did mine the flare fitting was mangled enough there was no way I was putting it back on a new rack. Didn't have time to wait for an OEM, found one at AutoZone. The Dorman H.P. line comes with an O-ring and specifies (in capitals, red type) if you don't use the O-ring it WILL leak. That, however, is related to the pressure line, not the rack itself. So if you're not leaking in the first hour, it probably won't.

For posterity it would be good to know the brand/etc. and come back in a few months to let us know how it's going. Aftermarket racks appear to have a reputation for leaking/failing sooner than OEM and it would be good to know, the cost of an OEM physically hurts.

 

Mine is a Napa reman unit. I have done about 10 miles or so since I replaced it and no leaking yet.

Doubt my 4WD 03 would fit, sorry. Start here, enter your VIN, search for steering gear. My first try gives me steering housing which is not the assembled rack. If it doesn't come up, hit any link to "Browse more in Steering - Steering Gear & Linkage." First on the list should be the steering gear. This toyota parts template sucks (same one on all the toyota sites.) For the record my part is 44250-35042 but not sure if it will fit your 2wd '95.

Napa part number for my reman unit is 36-1670. My truck is a 2000 4wd- not sure if it’s the same rack.
