    Hopefully.

100mill sounds a little high for 6000 electric chargers, but I can’t seem to find the price of a single commercial charger so idk

Well at least the money is going to something substantive not just giving away taxpayer money just for existing.

In my neighborhood those Amazon vans are everywhere. Interesting that they use level 2 charging, but if you think about it that's all they need. I wonder how the operating cost compare? I'm sure there's an accountant some where at Amazon that could tell us to the fraction of a penny. Back in the dark ages I drove a delivery van for UPS. This van looks very similar. The heated/cooled seat is nice, but I spent so little time sitting I wonder if it really helps all that much. When I did UPS it was a great job. Every package had to be signed for and people were happy to see you all day long. You can't imagine what a difference that makes in your life outlook. Today those poor drivers are little more than sweatshop workers, scurrying from drop to drop without even spending a second for human interaction.

I wonder if the heated/cooled seat was a tradeoff for not having any climate control in the vehicle? Too big a space to realistically heat it or cool it.. so they compromised with a nice seat..

I have no clue what it is like for today's drivers. I was pre-internet, pre-electronic anything. I had a clip board, a pen and please sign there in the box. :rofl:When I was driving it could be better thought of as an outside job. The only time the door was closed was to and from the hub. There was no AC and the heater was pointless in the winter. TBH I never minded it. I was hustling 100% of the time. I don't ever remember being cold in the winter because of the constant activity. Summer were sweaty though. I did mostly neighborhood deliveries, drive 100 yards, jump out, get the signature, jump in, drive another 100 yards, rinse and repeat all day long. That continuous starting and stopping cries out for an EV with regen braking.

If you owned a business that relied on the operation of a step van and your budget allowed you to purchase one new truck a year, which truck would you buy?

The Rivian is only available in two sizes.

Could be that a climate controlled seat uses significantly less electricity than a climate controlled van

Yes. This is an EV strategy, it is far more efficient to apply heat directly to the person than heat the cabin volume. Tesla does this, heat the cabin slightly less than you would in ICE and supplement with heated seats. In a delivery van though, the doors are open so much and often that the cabin heat is lost and heating the cabin provides little value.

Most the national parks I have worked in have charging stations for vehicles.

I have not seen one yet in the park I am working in and we have the highest visitation rate of +14million visitors per year.

Hmm, I've been to a bunch of national parks and level 2 or 3 charging stations are rare. Right after Labor Day I went to Yellowstone and there are ZERO fast chargers in the park itself. However, there are a number of gas stations. It worked out just fine though. We stayed in West Yellowstone and used the Supercharger right by the park entrance.
