4 of the 5 pillars are cracked. I'm hoping FMS will send me a new body set at minimum.

That thing took a hard hit in shipping somewhere.

FMS packages pretty tight too, unless the top clamshell was damaged, it was prolly damaged in packaging.

You would think damage like that would be easily caught before they packed it away

Hey good to see you in here as well!

The outer cardboard sleeve was slightly damaged:

    upload_2023-9-27_20-18-11.png

Outer box definitely took a hit:

Surprisingly though, the inner Styrofoam looks perfect from the outside:

They package them pretty well. Looks like that took a hit. Hopefully they send you a new body asap.

They sent me a return label, just hoping I don't have to wait for Fedex to punt my damaged one across the country before they ship out a new one (or worse, decide the damage was somehow my fault and not ship out a replacement).

You'll be fine, there are no other marks on it, no scratches from rough use, I assume nothing else unwrapped. Plus you have the pics, send those as well. FMS has a pretty good history of making it right. That kind of damage from use would have scratched windows or paint as well.
It didn't fall of the couch or table and do that.
From the look of the boxes, must have had a hard hit that was enough to crack the pillars but the Styrofoam retained it's shape

It's pretty crazy how the whole shipping process works. And amazing anything fragile makes it in one piece-then you understand why you have to open a couple of boxes before the goods appear :D

I didn't even take it out of the Styrofoam, I instantly saw the damage and put the lid back on.

I was wondering if it was damaged during packing?

Could be! I'm just going to ship it back so I don't have to look at it anymore.

I just ordered the updated FJ80 in yellow too. :D

I'll have to find some wheels for it. I have a spare set of RC4WD silver steelies in the meantime.

I wish they still did the maroon, I already have grey and blue trucks.

That sucks, hope they are quick about it.

I didn’t realize all the updates it got and when I did I was like oh sweet this is a no brainer. I thought the one you posted was the old model.

Yeah bigger motor, steel links, full bearings, etc. I already ordered the Treal brass servo mount and metal spool lockers and have some brass bead locks for it once it does come in (again...).

I'm going to mess with the wiring to get rid of the reverse/turn signal lights have make it so they're always turned on as well.

Yeah wheels and tires will be on the short list, I want something fitting for it. After that it’ll be replace as needed. This dudes build made the deciding factor for me.

Damn, I bought those exact same wheels too. I have a spare grey body I'm going to try painting.

Oof, FMS says they can't ship anything out now because the warehouse just went on holiday this week and shipping will be slow when they get back.

I know it's "just a toy" but if they knew they're going to be out on holiday I don't know why they could have just shipped the replacement immediately while I ship the stock one back. Or better yet, just have shipped a replacement body out so I could use the truck in the mean time.

I'm going to try and enjoy it whenever it comes in (especially as it's a birthday present from my wife) but I'm going to just order from Amazon from now on. At least I can use their system for refunds.

That is poor customer service...sorry to hear that. I'd press for something more as this is not being expedited
